Pick say next Sunday's Man U v Chelsea game. Imagine current British & World Champs attended. How many would be pointed out by the average fan?

SRL, Hagler, Duran, Tyson all would have been crowded for autographs

What about ODH, PBF, Pacman or a Klitchko ? - Probably, but not as many

Now what about Martinez, JM Marquez, Gamboa or Donaire? - They would walk about freely without any attention

British title- Probably only Degale would get noticed

Boxers always get kudos when they go on at half time. Mitchell got a fair shout parading about at Upton Park to advertise his fight there.

I am sure if Hagler, Leonard, Duran or Hearns paraded round the ground next Sunday, we dads would wet our pants, but everyone else would applaud whilst looking at anyone of 35 and over for advice on who they are.

Even Gamboa or Donaire could do it, it would just be that everyone would applaud with a bemused look on their face.

Actually I reckon Hearns, Hagler and Duran wouldn't be recognised. At least by the younger crowd and probably a fair few older ones. You ever spoken to a random about Marvin Hagler? The name might ring a bell, but I'm certain he could walk around in a football stadium unnoticed by the majority.

Of the top of my head I reckon most people would reconise Haye, Lewis, Eubank, Benn and Fraudley. Was gonna add in Naz but blimey, I hardly recognised the new heavyweight version of him when I was at Burns Evensen fight last year!

Darren Barker was at Stamford Bridge for the Chelsea-West Ham game. Went on the pitch at half time and other season ticket holders didnt have a clue who he was.

I would say most football fans are casual boxing fans and would recognise the very top active fighters and the best fighters of their particular era . If your a season ticket holder then you have sky sports if you have sky sports and your in the house on on a saturday night and theres boxing on then you'll watch it

Hardly anyone's gonna recognize Gamboa,Martinez and co because there not on Sky or terrestrial tv....so only proper fans of sport will notice.
