dumb comment. If he's fighting in July that means he's going to fight Pac in the fall. Why do you think they are calling it a tune up. Who do you think they are tuning up for

You're an idiot. He needs to sell 40000 seats (which he will) and do over 1M PPV buys (which he will). A draw is based on an individual event, not adding a bunch of events together against one.

Who is the bigger draw: Boxer A selling 30K seats a night in a 20 fight career or Boxer B selling 5K seats a night in a 100 fight career?

Answer B and you may be in danger of Dilusionalpactarddenialism.

I don't think he's quite that bad....Berto wasn't the most proven of WWs out there, and has questionable wins over Collazo, and Urango he didn't look good, BUT Berto showed me more in his fight against Ortiz than he did in all his fights combined. AND of course Ortiz still upstaged that.
I feel kind of torn with it all. In one way I agree if a fight with pac doesn't happen then Mayweather is simply a *****. I would probably agree that he does need a tune up for Pac though. I wouldn't pay for it, but I'd watch it free the next week on HBO ;)

Ortiz at 147 would be acceptable
Cotto at 154 would be pretty good

How about Martinez at 154???
MY BAD...If Mayweather needs a tune up (or won't fight) "the Asian Midget" then WTF am I thinking that he fights Martinez?! Sorry....

I'd answer B. Who earned more $ last year: Pac or Mayweather? Of course people are going to want to see you more if you rarely fight, and people are dying to see you lose. Pac fights regularly every 3-4 months, and thus people take advantage of that. There's not that much build up of his fights, and he's a good guy (not a villian), and he hasn't fought any villians. People love drama (just look how many crazy reality shows are on t.v, etc) and not really much dramatic with Pac vs the likes of Clottey, Margarito, etc.
Floyd plays the villian part well, and he's a black American. The blacks love him (a lot of them), the people who love the villians love him, and the rest HATE him and cannot wait for him to lose!
Besides, even based on race, and what country these guys are from...It's amazing to say a Philippino fighter could compete with the likes of Mayweather, ODLH, etc in America! Not a mexican, not a Puerto Rican, he's not black, he's not white, and he doesn't have to make his fight in to a WWE event. STILL he draws those numbers in America! This is what you fail to realize.

Why? Why do you spread crap like this? Roger never said Jr. was going to return to boxing. He said he hoped he would. He said he plans to do something with the cowboys or who ever got money not really in boxing but something big in sports.

The source of the video was datruthboxing.com but they have pulled the video. My guess is with Pac's pending Lawsuit the fools realized he's just adding more evidence of defamation with his ranting.

because he wouldn't have fought in over 16 months
they call this fight a tune up for a reason
Also I believe this fight will happen and being a fanboy has nothing to do with it

How long was Mosley's layoff before he fought Floyd? do you have that info?

SLR had 1 fight in like 6 years, and hadn't fought in 3 years... he came out of retirement to take on the most dangerous fighter of his era who was a naturally bigger man..

Stop defending this tune-up crapola, makes you look like a huge hypocrite

    you're a ******
Get this in your head *****.
If Floyd fights Manny with no tuneup, the fight will be in November
If Floyd fight Manny with a tuneup, the fight will be in November

With that said, why the hell wouldn't he take one in July against Ortiz or Cotto. That's an extra 20-35 million dollars, more hyping from the media since he would have fought more recently than manny did before they fight in November and more practice :deal

you're assuming that your man crush intends to fight Pacquiao , all evidence points to the assumption that he wants nothing to do with him.
