If Graham could not get past Kalambay, he is not beating Hagler, even in 87.

That may have been the feeling at the time but Kalambay turned out to be pretty good.

And Hagler lost a decision to a inactive blown-up welterweight.

I think Graham can nip this one too. Hagler was too old and slow at this point.

I figured Graham to beat Hagler, until the Kalambay fight.

Graham would have the speed to make 87 Hagler look a novice at times, but in the end, Bomber Graham was just not strong enough to beat him.

Hagler would press Herol, eating any leather, as he would have little respect for Graham's power, and eventually catching up with him in the later rounds.

I don't know. I think Graham could have won a close decision. Leonard did it, and as great as Sugar Ray was, he was not a primed fighter in April '87, and with no record against middleweights.
I think Graham and Kalambay might have beat the declining Hagler at that time.

Over 12 rounds, Herol wins a competitive decision and makes Hagler loook amatuerish at points.

Over 15 rounds the accumulation of punches has no effect on Marvelous but, does on Herol and the TKO arrives for the Marvelous one.

Leonard rose to the occasion every time, Graham rarely did. There's your difference. Hagler would've stopped Graham.
