I got to give credit to both guys. Really a fabulous fight.

 

Wonder if he will jump in with Vic again for the title

 

I admit I had this fight competely wrong, and very, VERY happy to eat my words (Arce is shot, Vazquez Jr. to win by KO5). Incredible achievement.

Arce was a very very underrated fighter as a light flyweight (his 'real' division) and IMO was close to HOF heading into the Darchinyan fight divisions higher. But since that loss (that put him into hospital) he picked up two belts and arguably his best scalp yesterday. He'd definitely get my vote now. But there's no better moment to go out, not on his shield but on his throne, he deserves to go out like the champion he is.

An absolutely superb performance, he showed a true fighters heart, and gradually wore Vazquez down.

Also consider this.

Arce lost to Michael Carbajal in Carbajal's final fight. Arce was the yound gun coming up and meant to get a big name on his ledger, he was ko'd in the last round giving up his title.

Now Arce reverses the role and ko's the young gun in the final round and takes his title :happy:happy:happy

I saw some threads and comments where people claimed Arce was going to get blown out. I did not know what the **** those folks thought they were talking about! WAR ARCE!!

 

Good for Jorge, it's a shame he's not a bit bigger or he'd get the kind of attention other great action fighters like Gatti and Morales got. He's been one of boxings most exciting fighters for a good decade now, and thankfully gave us a bit of action on last nights disapointing bill.

 

WAR ARCE! God how good is this guy to watch? Even in the run up to the fight and at the presser, just great stuff. What an awesome fight.

 

Kudos to Arce. Great fight and amazing finish.
