Just curious of what boxing fans think I say overrated. Shane's not a strategic fighter, and his jab is crap so what was the plan.
The plan was to keep Pac turning and frustrate him and have him lunging in with wild shots, Manny can't stand boredom and he did quite well, Shane just couldn't pull the trigger, at times Manny was standing right in front of him with his guard up, body wide open and Shane just chose to tap him with his pitty pat jab. Fight was laughable and it's on a matter of time before the fans turn on Manny and top rank. I didn't expect to see Manny dead tired by round 7, he is truly past his prime.
This definitely was Shane plan, he didn't even attempt to fight, and it's funny cause he made Manny look horrible in the process, he had the nerve to say this was the tougher fight for him than Mayweather he was just thankful to get a big pay day from top rank when he didn't deserve it.
Overrated. I never understood how he was credited for the Mosley victory over Margarito when Shane basically fought the same game plan as he did against Mayora when he was trained by Jack Mosley. Seems to me like those gameplans should be credited to Shane himself rather than any trainer he was with.
He's training an old fighter who can no longer **** and load. Many of us said it; strategy, tactics doesn't matter if a fighter lacks the physical ability to execute them. Why was this fight on again?
Nazim is a great trainer, He was telling Shane what to do... Mosley just couldn't/Didn't want to execute. Richardson straight up told Mosley that the knockdown ruined Mosley's approach in the corner during one of the between round breaks.
Great trainer but his fighter doesn't fight at a high level anymore. If he had Roach, Mayweather, or whoever, same result.
Both. It shows that philosophy and **** talking can only take you so far. You need to execute what is preached, not only on fight night but during training. IMO, training methods are not intense enough which don't prepare his fighters to going into grueling war. Besides that, the strategic style doesn't fit Mosley, he's always been more reactive, explosive and done what he's always done. No need in trying to tame Shane, although I believe Mosley's time in the ring is done, no training would have been able to prepare him to get him through Pacquiao.
My thought, naazim hasn't done anything that stands out more than sr. Naazim cant receive credit from me for being in BERNARD HOPKINS or SHANE MOSLEY corner. Maybe he comes up with good plans but to me they haven't been any better thannany other average trainer, and if you come up with a plan that you know your boxer can't execute, that let's me know how good of a trainer you are and if you DON'T know he can't execute it, that FURTHER let's me know...
Well, in the aftermath of the Margarito fight he was being overrated - a lot of people were talking like he was a mixture of Dundee, D'Amato and Buddha. He's an excellent trainer though and I don't think he's wrong for Shane at all. What cornerman would make Mosley beat Pacquiao or Mayweather? Shane is old and clearly past his best - he would lose to these guys no matter what tactical genius was in his corner.
