I must say that Holyfield looked sharp in that fight. He threw quick, accurate combinations and was reasonably active. I know the opponent was a bum but still Evander seems very determined about his comeback. Aside from the Wlad and Haye, the TOP Ten heavyweights are of very poor quality. So I give Holyfied a shot against any other heavyweight, except from James Toney who is just stylistic nightmare for the real deal
I am watching this now and i have to agree that he looked sharp against Nielsen. I think he can beat someone like Briggs and if he insists on not retiring then i think he should gun for such an opponent
I know I am going to get a lot of **** for this, but if Holy looked good, I wouldn't mind wwing him fight Vitaly. Many people thought Holy beat Valuev, who everyone still wants to see fight Vitklit, and Vitaly is 40 himself. So if Evander looked good, why not? Give him a big payday to go out on.
Briggs and Sosnowski got about 1 mln euro, and I do not think Holy would get much more as he is equally undeserving a titleshot at this point. While this payday would be huge for me or you, it would be nothing for someone like Holyfield - addicted to getting a new wife every other year (but unable to write prenuptial agreement) and still keeping a mansion he got when he earned 30 mln per fight. And that is on top of having a legion of children to support.
I wont go out on a limb and say Evander can beat either Klitschko but if there is one he has a chance with its Wlad, who has questionable chin, and Heart... and one who also throws alot more shots, Vitali uses that jab too good for a guy like Evander to come in and win... He did look great in his fight, he placed his shots I really wish there was a punch stat to look at he was at a very high connect % and the majority of what he threw landed, loved the knock down in the early part of the fight that was vicious as it gets vintage Holyfield in alot of spots, wondering if Evander has a younger brother that looks like him cus damn this did not look like the Evander we have seen lately.... Either way give the man a shot, he beat Valuev and should have won that WBA title, but was robbed, either way give him his shot so he can retire already... the man is putting in the work,,,,,,, Ohh where are the rest of the doubters who were talking **** from the last fight?
Who would have ever thought? Anyhow what I did see in that fight was flashes of his style when he was in his prime, he would take shots roll with them and fire the counter right back... this was in alot of ways the Holyfield of old, but lets not get over board Nielsen isnt much to write home about...
holyfield has still some fight left in him! but he shoould stay away from klitshko and haye! I heard that he may fight valuev again as an eliminator for a title fight!
they didnt just give him the wbf heavyweight title because hes good looking ya know This content is protected
:---( Holyfield has NOTHING left at all, he was embarressed by Byrd, Toney and Donald years ago. The only reason he looks ok now is because outside of 4 maybe 5 guys HW boxing is a real joke.
you already forgot about sherman williams fight? it would probably end with ko next round if holyfield didn't retire..
I am sorry but this statement is pure and utter garbage, Holyfield was not at all hurt in that fight, the wobble that most claim there was in that fight was due to being caught off balance..... I have watched this fight with Williams a dozen times now still looking for what all of you claimed happend and I did not see it at all what so ever... So get that **** out of your mouth kid, it makes your breathe stink...
Was Nielsen throwing punches back? Or was he a punching bag? 'Haven't seen the Williams or Nielsen fights.
Honestly he was there to be hit, but he did fight back in spots, But that was when Evander allowed him to fire shots so that Holyfield could catch Brian inbetween shots with Counters. I honestly think if Holyfield didnt come out sharp in the early rounds he may have had more of a fight on his hands, but early on Evander was sharp with his shots throwing three and four punch combonations top and bottom, and he ripped left hooks to the body and these were vicious left hooks downstairs and to me thats what took away anything Brian may have brought to the fight....
