Who do you think comes out on top if they had a sharp jabbing snipping contest? Don't forget that Floyd will also do his jab to the body.

This is the most fascinating part of their fight to me had they fought.

That was a fight I would have loved to have seen. Cotto after he outboxed Mosely was the time for that fight to happen. Cotto has a seriously good jab, love how he throws it and times it so well. Not many fighters have timed pacman with their jab but Cotto was able to do it and landed a few beauties.

I think against Floyd, he just isn't there enough to get hit by a Cotto jab, as good as it is, Cotto doesn't have the foot speed to get to Floyd and catch him. In a jabbing contest, Floyd wins. In an all round boxing match Cotto may have had some success, but maybe still losing on a UD.

Floyd's got the better jab. Cotto's was good when he had the threat of a ruthless left hook coming afterwards. These days he doesn't hook anymore, for some reason.

Cotto's got a great, stiff jab, but its somewhat predictable . Floyd doesnt have a notable jab. It's not a particularly authoritative jab, it's something that he throws sparingly as a point scorer. He's got a good jab to the body though.

since when has floyd had a jab?? since he finally started using it against a finished off ricky hatton in the 7th? or the time he came out with it against a fatass lightweight?

cotto by a country mile...and even that jab only worked one round against pacman

Watch more Floyd fights. He used his jab alot when he was trained by his dad. When his dad came back he started using it again. He used it against De La Hoya, Mosley, Castillo, etc. IMO when Mayweather uses his jab he has a better one. His jab to the body puts him a little over Cotto's.

    2 different jab's, I prefer Cotto's shotgun jab.
(A straight shot disguised as a JAB)

Cotto overcommits on his jab and it can land him in trouble.

cotto has more power, that's about it. a jab is not about power.

cotto got a damn good jab. It is stiff and hard. enough to take a toll on a fighter if he hits them with it. The thing is that Cotto is a left hander so he doesn't have a effective right hand to follow up with that jab. He uses his jabs as a power shot. Floyd's jab is effective in a different way. Hits just hard enough to get respect but he uses it to setup his right hand which is deliever with pin point accuracy.

A jab can be used to do a lot of things and a powerful, heavy jab like Cotto's got is a good weapon.
