What ever Pacquiao does . . . he won't get respect from haters.

How can the guy lose respect for that when JMM himself said he'll fight him at welter. JMM can weigh in at 140 and still fight Pac who's gonna weigh in at 144 or 145. Any problem with that?

I love how the *******s always get on FLoyd for something and then Pacquiao does the same exact thing or worse and then they defend it.
Floyd only fights for money and Manny fights for the people
But now they're talking about how Msoely is a bigger draw than Berto and Marquez

Floyd is a big for fighting a lightweight at 144
Marquez should go to 147 to fight Pac if he wants the fight

It should be at 144, then Pac would pay him 600,000 dollars and come it at 146.

Then we can compare how Gayweather perform against Pac in a common enemy with the same set-up.

Oherwise, JMM wuld just be draining Pac again.

both of them will weigh the same in the ring regardless.

Whether its at 140 or 145 or 147.

Jmm will weigh around 144-145 and Manny around 148-149 on fight night.

Yep, he said he had some soup and rice the morning of the weighin and that 145 lbs was all he could go up to.

......my contention is that it serves the PED user more to be fast vs Welters, but vs Marquez I think its going to serve him more to be stronger physically, which is why I think he'll gear his training camp to bulk up and weigh at the limit and then gain a few more pounds overnight.

I'm confident that Pacquiao will be the heaviest he's ever been vs Marquez.....which is why his PED ass should be stopped and made to weigh 140 lbs so that he does'nt have the option to further PED up and come into the ring at 15O-152 lbs......

The fight being at 140 lbs takes away Pacquiao's option to further gain lean mass, and makes it a virtual lock that both fighters will weigh within about 4 lbs of eachother at fight time.

    Exactly.

Their in-ring weights are pretty similar anyway, it's just a question of whether Marquez chooses to take weight off and re-hydrate or just come in at a flat weight and stick to that.

It's the styles that make this fight, not the weight. If people can't see that, they need to have a word with themselves.

If Marquez believes he can beat Pacquiao at welter, let them fight at welter.

What would we rather see, a third fight with Marquez, who's posed him problems before, or a fight with somebody else purely on the basis that they're established at 147?

They're #1 and #2 in the world, they've fought before in two brilliant contests. Let's see a third.

what was jmm's fight night weight for the past 2 years? i think on the average it was in the mid 144-145. which means jmm doesn't have to drain himself during the training.

Somewhere around 143-145lbs is better for Marquez in absolute terms because that's bang about what he weighs in the ring for his fights so he can just prepare to fight without artificially cutting any weight for the weigh in.

Laughing at people who once again focus on weigh in weights and say Marquez can't be effective above 135lbs. Err, what? He weighs above 135lbs in every ****ing fight he has. You think it makes him better having to dehydrate himself the day before a fight?!

The weight limit in this fight is actually basically irrelevant given the closeness of each fighters fighting weights. If the limit is anywhere from 143-147 then that just really means both fighters can come to the ring in their absolute best condition. Who wouldn't want to see that? Seems like some people are desperate for one fighter or other to be disadvanted somehow? Why would that be? :blood

Pac is the welterweight titleholder. Why should he go down at junior welterweight to defend his title? But I can agree to a catchweight at 145 which is still in the welter range.

Sure. And if he remains at welter and doesn't fight him he would have ducked him right? 143, 144, 145 are acceptable catchweights
