What's the best most complete fight card you've ever seen on television? Whether the fights were the most entertaining or had the combined most significant bouts, which ones provided the most when put together into a one-night show?
Don King had some good ones in the mid 90's. I can't remember an exact one that was best. The one in which Randall detroned Chavez was pretty good. I once attended a card in 1995 at the now defunct Capital Center that was damn good. In the main event, Vince Pettway Ko'd Simon Brown. The card lasted about 7 or 8 hours and had like 10 fights. Freddy Pendleton Ko'd Darryl Tyson and Bernard Hopkins ko'd Segundo Mercado. John David Jackosn and Maurice Blocker were also on the card.
I cant remember the particular card details now, but in the late seventies Promoter Howard Smith was putting on some very good cards, and paying the fighters very well, and losing money, and not seeming to be too worried about it - It transpired Wells Fargo bank was, unwittingly bankrolling the escapade, It was the subject of a book - Empire of Deceit.
