He says he's top3 which means he doesn't underrate or discredit Ward ...

Abe just highlighted his own fundamental Flaw.

He thinks power alone will win him a fight. Who cares if he does not have great power. He just whooped your arse.

Now show him some respect, get a new trainer, stop only moving in straight lines, and for gods sake learn to Jab!

I think most of us respect that Ward is good.. he's the Champ for a reason but really all the power that Abraham, Bika, and even Miranda who carry in their punches based on Abrahmns Logic that Ward has no Power should have just walked through Wards punches just like Margaritto walked through Cotto... For Wards opponents to lose their will and settle for swinging for the fences hoping to get lucky has to say somethign about Wards Power.. it may not knock you out but is sure in hell makes you think about walking strait in.. Abraham was backed up by Wards Jab on more than one occasion.. to me thats not feather fisted...

And? What he says is true. Ward doesn't have a lot of power. He outboxes and outclasses guys with his skills.

I would also be pissed if I lost and got outboxed by a guy with alot less power.

Stupid thread title, everyone knows Ward has mediocre power at best, just look at his KO ratio.

it's the skill and adaptability factor, he outclasses guys, frustrates them and make them feel like they suck after he's figured them out. same thing happens in just about every mayweather fight after he's figured a guy out in the first few rounds. you don't need booming power to achieve this, it can be more frustrating for fighters to feel useless cause of an opponents skill that it can be to get nailed with big power shots

Abraham is a poor sport and has too much pride to ever admit another fighter has power. After the Taylor fight he claimed Taylor had no power, while sporting a dismissive grin on his face like "what? hahahhaha. No way, are you kidding?". All Taylor's weaknesses aside, I don't think anyone can say he lacks power. Taylor knocked down both Pavlik and Froch. No one else in the Super 6 managed to KD Froch. Not even Kessler, who landed at least a couple solid shots in their all out war.

Basically Abraham got discouraged because he realized that he was not going to be able to get to Ward, but Ward also punched back with solid shots every time Abraham landed. And it always stopped Abraham in his tracks. So it's apparent that Ward had enough power to gain Abraham's respect, perhaps not enough to cause a lot of damage though. And further in addition to Ward's credit, he did at least as much damage to Abraham as Abraham did to him, absorbing any power punches that Abraham managed to land. As much as Ward didn't hurt Abraham, Abraham didn't hurt Ward, despite roughly equal trades in power shots that took place.

Combine that with Ward's much better ring IQ, footwork, defense, and work rate, and Abraham got completely schooled. I think Froch is the only one who will even be competitive against Ward in the Super 6 (at least now that Dirrell is out).

EDIT: Abraham claiming he gave up and went for the knockout after 2 rounds because he wouldn't get a decision in America? What a joke. Like he had any chance whatsoever at winning through points against Ward.

I can't understand why Ward's shots do so little damage. He visibly commits to them, seems to be in superb physical shape, and yet there is no OOMPH in his shots. You look at Kelly Pavlik, who got a nickname "Ghost" because he looks like he died a week ago from malnourishment, and that kid cripples people while barely committing to his punches...weird

I agree to an extent. While I think Ward has the potential to score accumulation-of-punches type KOs, I doubt he'll ever demonstrate serious one or one-two punch KO power.
