In this thread, let's document every verifiable opinion of every professional boxer who has weighed in on the Pac vs. Floyd debate. Opinions from those with close affiliations (i.e. works as regular sparring partner for Pac or Floyd) are not allowed (but we'll list those boxers separately to keep track).

To nominate a boxer and their opinion, here are the guidelines:

    1. Post in this thread with name of boxer, which fighter they favor (Pac/Floyd), and an URL that verifies the opinion. The link must be to video or reputable written interview, etc, that documents the boxer clearly favoring either Pac or Floyd in a theoretical matchup.
    2. If a boxer just says "Floyd is scared" but doesn't actually say they think Pac would win, that doesn't count.
    3. If you don't include a link, I will not consider the nomination, and won't update the OP. But you're welcome to recall an interview you remember seeing/reading, and asking if someone else has a link to it if you can't find the link for some reason.
    4. I will update the OP with a tally, and a clean list of the verified boxers, along w/ who they voted for.
    Let us begin!

    Update - 5/18/2011 10:12AM (Eastern Time, USA):
    Results

    Floyd Mayweather: 14 votes
    Manny Pacquiao: 5 votes

    -------------- Raw results --------

    Picks for Mayweather:

    Picks for Pacquiao:

    Notes:

    • Hatton previously picked Floyd, but after the Pac/Mosley fight he picked Manny, so I changed Hatton to a vote for Pac. Hatton picking Floyd, a while back: http://www.***********.com/mayweather-beat-pacquiao-says-ricky-hatton--23643
    • Removed ODLH's vote for Floyd, because anything he says on the matter would be biased. ODLH picking FM: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIkzjKk3pOo&feature=player_embedded[/ame]

True, in the end all you have is opinions until the fight happens. But I would still be curious to know opinions of pro fighters. I also would give more weight to their opinions because not only are they fans who've watch as many if not WAY more fights than us, but they've also trained and fought at the top level. Therefore they have insights that are more likely to be true, and that are at least unique compared to the average boxing fan.

Also, it's "they are", which would contract to "they're", not "their".

Lol at the second guideline... I know there are tons of boxers who have said Floyd doesnt want the fight. Many of those boxers didn't give a prediction because they don't think the fight is going to happen.

While you're at it, try this:

True! In the end, all you have are opinions until the fight happens.

Sorry man, can't resist it. You've set yourself up for that one. :yep

    On topic:

Pac: I'll take the tests. Let's fight!
Flod: Take the tests! Then we'll fight!

Ha. Was that wrong? What I wrote still seems right to me. I'll take your word for it though. I don't have a grammar book to reference, and honestly I'm not sure what search terms I'd use to try to verify it one way or the other via google.

judah predicted floyd if the fight goes down, he said floyd was scared though. pretty sure manny steward predicted floyd too. saying floyd is ducking the fight is different from predicting pac :deal

fighters that have predicted floyd off the top: junior jones, juan manuel marquez, victor ortiz, sergio martinez

pretty much everyone believes floyd will beat pac, but the only boxer's opinion that really count is what floyd thinks :good

Last 'prediction' (April 2010) I heard from Leonard was that it was a 'pick em' fight.

Out of curiousity, when has he changed this? Also, where are you gettng the Hearns prediction from?

    Thanks.
