I was watching that fight the other day and it was a beautiful display. Watching the fight, you could tell how skilled Duran was too, but Ray just was a intellectual monster in the ring
Just rewatched Wright-Trinidad so that comes to mind. I'm not sure if it's really ring generalship as much as having the worst fight plan ever on Tito's part.
Should also add recent examples: Froch vs Abraham Donaire vs Vic Darchinyan Agbeko vs. Yohnny Perez (very underrated performance from King Kong)
Ali vs Liston.... Jones Jr vs Toney.... Hopkins vs Pavlik.... Floyd vs Judah.. Hopkins vs Tarver... n Ali vs Foreman (In a way.. good game pan)
Kalambay-McCallum Duran-Leonard I Duran-De Jesus III Rose-Harada Leonard-Benitez Douglas-Tyson Robinson-LaMotta VI Hagler-Sibson Marcel-Arguello Hopkins-Tarver Hopkins-Johnson Frazier-Ali I Whitaker-Haugen Whitaker-Ramirez II Chavez-Rosario Benitez-Duran Hearns-Benitez Barrera-Hamed Mosley-Margarito Forrest-Mosley I Mayweather-Hernandez Mayweather-Gatti Lewis-Tua Holmes-Cooney ...and Andre Berto's brilliant performances (outside and inside) against Luis Collazo and Victor Ortiz.
Mayweather's destruction of Arturo Gatti. That was one of the most brilliant performances in the history of boxing...and I am not a huge Mayweather fan.
