Would have to say Mayweather by a close decision. Chavez was losing to Meldrick Taylor before Chavez KOd him in the last round. Sweet Pea, even faded, gave Chavez a tough fight. Mayweather is a combination of Taylor's speed and Pea's defense. Mayweather's style is all wrong for Chavez.

Floyd would make JC take every test known to man before he would even consider stepping in the ring with the lion of culiacan.

at 135 , I feel Chavez would break Floyd down. Just watch Chavez vs. Rosario to see how much of a beast he was at 135. It would be Castillox2 for Floyd. People wanna bring up Sweet Pea, but Chavez, while still very very game at WW, was no longer in his prime either.

Chavez-Taylor was at 140lbs, Chavez was more faded than Sweet Pea at that point, and that was at WW.

At 135lbs, Chavez was a whole diffrent monster...Chavez would be ALL over Floyd like a severe case of syphillis, and would break him down to a late round stoppage around the 11th.

    Castillo was Chavez's sparring partner.

    End of story.

Mayweather wins by decision. Chavez would certainly make him sweat, but the difference in skill level would be, well, the difference. :smoke

Yeah, because sooo many fighers have demonstrated the blueprint to scoring an "easy" decision over Mayweather.

Or 9th. All this "Well Taylor gave Chavez fits so he would struggle with any boxer-type" talk is crap as you said, Chavez was past prime and slower. Floyd fought/fights nothing like Taylor and even Chavez was able to land on the past prime but still very good Whitaker giving him a good fight, he would land on Floyd and break him down.

Pretty much this. Chavez is 5x what Castillo was and was a ko artist with very good accuracy and head movement. Even past prime he still made Taylor miss quite a few punches which I don't think Chavez gets enough credit for. Also, Floyd wouldn't trade as much as Taylor did but Chavez could cut off the ring in his prime and had devastating bodypunches throughout his career, he ruined people. I like Floyd but I pick Chavez by ko. No disrespect to Castillo but he was no Chavez and definitely no prime Chavez though he gave Mayweather hell and even in the rematch Floyd had to fight the perfect fight which he did.

AGAIN, Floyd gets overrated in fantasy matchups. Much lesser than Chavez in Hatton and Castillo still had to make Floyd work. Chavez would be all over Floyd giving him no breathing room and would break him down.
