Lamon Brewster vs. Riddick Bowe

Bowe is rather unproven vs punchers, out on his feet against Hide, knocked down by Holyfield and down twice against Golota. Brewster has an iron chin, contrary to Hide, but he also has horrible defense and boxing ability. So i would say Bowe wins a UD, maybe getting knocked down in the process.

 

Bowe. Late stoppage or clear decision. Too big and skillful for someone like Lamon Brewster, though many questions can be asked about Riddick Bowe too.

 

A prime Bowe tears Brewster to pieces and stops him in 5-6. Brutality.

Bowe's handspeed and power, infighting ability would prove too much.

 

I'm in agreement with Amsterdam. The only time his stamina looked questionable was in his first fight with Golata. He doesn't gas like Wlad, and forces a stoppage in the mid rounds.

 

Bowe by murder...

 

I would favor Bowe.

 

Riddick Bowe TKO7 Lamon Brewster

Brewster would be outgunned. Bowe could beat him on the outside or the inside. His faster hands, better technical skills, and defense would be far too much for Brewster. He would take a bad beating.

 

Brewster would try to make a fight of it as it last, I think if Bowe comes into the ring out of shape, Brewster's chances goes up pretty high imo.

 

BIG DEE HERE= Bowe by 5th rd KO as he was to good to fast handed and hit to hard for Brewster to handle. Brewsters pinching power does give him a
punchers chance but a Bowe in his prime was a tough nut to crack.
He just couldn`t keep his act together.

 

Brewsters chin is top notch, he has only been down once in his career against Wlad. His power is up there as well, I think 31 out of his 34 wins were by knockout. I think it would be a slugfest from the opening bell, Bowe's jab alone could probably win the fight, but I see him trying to go punch for punch with the hard hitting Brewster. I see both men getting rocked early, the fight would carry on into the late rounds where Brewster gets caught with a big overhand right and stays up, but doesnt return fire, the ref has no choice but to stop it in the 9th or 10th round.

 

It all depends on which Bowe shows up! The Bowe who beat Holfyield in their first fight would likely win a UD. I would not discount a Brewster TKO. Bowe did not have good defense, and Brewster hits a ton.

 

People forget how good a prime early 90s Bowe was, that left jab was brilliant, he had every shot in the book including a peach of an uppercut and he had to fight Holyfield, Holyfield would have given anyone in the history of the heavyweight division a tough fight, Bowe became undisciplined, too heavy and far too easy to hit but if we are comparing the best Bowe to the best Brewster then Bowe is gonna destroy him although nothing is ever predictable in the heavyweight division

 

Bowe was ALWAYS easy to hit and could be outjabbed by anyone who threw a jab at him.

Holyfield would have won that first fight if he did'nt decide to brawl . Holy was outjabbing Bowe fairly easy when he threw his jab.

 

Bowe wins this but gets a beating in the proces luckilyfor Bowe Brewster has a worse defense then him because of this Bowe outlands him enough for a wide decision.
