What are the consequences of Floyd and Manny never fighting?

    Just wondering what people think are the main consequences of the two best boxers of the era never fighting, in terms of the effect on their individual legacies and the sport as a whole?

    i think the sport will go on and there will be bigger fights that will happen. Pac's legacy is set. Floyd will be seen as the biggest waste of talent who ducked the divisions best

    Floyd will be known as a coward but a great boxer.
    Pacquiao will be known as a atg weightjumper that missed out a big opportunity at the end.
    Since floyd currently shoulders the blame

    For boxing as a whole it will be another argument that the best fighters dont want to fight eachother and the best fights dont happen.

    I hate to say it but it maybe the biggest letdown in boxing history. I truly believe the pressure will lead both into the ring with each other sooner than later.

    Both Pac & May are just gears in the machine.

    I am not sure what the consequences could be, I mean for the sake of the sport we need the fight, its not like Boxing has been putting on alot of great showings recently.

    However it might change the way the business works who knows, it may on its own have the commission rethink how we are doing our current testing in the sport, and they may decide on their own to make changes to better the sport in that department...

    But if the fight never happens it wont kill boxing, though it will hurt it..

    Both guys take a hit in terms of legacy, but Floyd takes the greater hit because of his history of avoiding challenges and general persona.

    I think Floyd will forever be remembered as a big mouthed, no balls ***** of an ATG. Pac will be in the top 20 ATG (at the very least). And boxing moves on.

    I honestly don't think Manny's legacy will be damaged at all by never fighting Mayweather. Manny has beaten so many elite fighters, and he's really is at the very peak of the sport. Beating Mayweather would obviously add to that already brilliant legacy, but not fighting him wouldn't harm Manny at all.

    The main consequeces are for FMJ. Only a small loyalist group of his fans consider him to have achieved more than Manny, so really the pressure is on him. As I've said before, Floyd will forever be known as the 2nd best fighter of his generation, and people will ALWAYS mention him not fighting Manny in any historical conversations about his career. Rightly or wrongly, the popular perspective is that Floyd doesn't want that fight, so he's doomed to live in Manny's shadow.

    In the future, FMJ's ego will not thank him for his total lack of foresight on this issue. Unless he just doesn't give a ****, which is possible.

    The consequences for boxing shouldn't be underestimated. These guys are are only two mainstream, cross-over stars. Boxing has become niche and marginalised, it's in decline and we aren't putting on enough attention-grabbing fights to either halt or reverse that decline.
