What are the consequences of Floyd and Manny never fighting?

They both fell off the Forbes top 100 list which was announced yesterday. Last year, Floyd was ranked 31 and Manny was ranked 55 I believe. Neither made the list this year.

19 other athletes did make the list. Tiger still being the top athlete coming in at 6. haha

 

People on boxing forums will have to suffer endless debates about who was better.

 

El Cepillo, I'm not saying it means anything. Its supposed to be the top 100 influencial people in the entertainment business. Not sure how they determine it, but I assume its a blend of: earnings, google searches, etc. Its just a shame to think that no boxer made the list this year. I think the hype that they might fight earned them their spots last year and now people are giving up. Just my opinion.

and you can tell who is a real boxing fan....and who is a fan of a boxer...

the only true consequence...is the fans of both fighter will continue...to argue..who ducked who...who was scared of who.....ect...ect....ect.....

Didn't get to fight many young up and comers. E.g. Patterson, Liston, etc.

[HW] Boxing survived, and within 10 years had its greatrest champ ever, and in coming decades had many great fights and great champions, who likely would have beaten Rocky.

Boxing survived easily when Rocky retired at 32.

 

No one will suffer. All these non professional opinions don't matter. Other great boxers and real fans of the sport will remember both as the best of this era. If it don't happen, it will be the most wanted fight in boxing history. HAlf will say Manny should have taken the test, while the other half will say Mayweather ego demanded to much! I personally will remember this as the only boxer that could have beaten Pac, and the only fighter that could possibly given Mayweather his first lost. :good

If it don't happen its potentially the biggest "what if" fight that never took place.

 

I still feel it will happen, but if it doesn't, no consequences, only speculations, consequences come from real things and events, not fairy tales. I think at some point Floyd will come around, the money is too much to walk away from and he's now seeing Pac's paychecks increasing up to the size of his, I don't think he likes that, so lace em up Floyd, lets go.

 

I still believe the fight will happen. Unfortunately it might happen a lot later than when it should of.
