Chauncy Welliver calls out Chris Arreola "On the Ropes"

Welliver is out of his league here.

 

On second thought I hope this fight gets made. Chris should give chauncy a shot!

 

I sense that your insuating Chirs will fight him only if he sees the tomato can version? Arreola might have lost his biggest fights but who else has taken on 2 of the top 5 hws in the world?.. All the other so called top contenders have been stalling,pulling out and a bunch of other excuses.

 

You are overrating Welliver big time He does have enough skills to outblox lowlevel journeyman or clubfighters, but not any one in the top 20.. Welliver has a good chin but he would be outgunned big time, he doenst even hit hard enough to rattle weak chinned hw much less Arreolla... Would be entertaining the first couple of rounds but he wont be able to keep Arreola at bay or get his respect. For as good as Wellivers chin is, Arreola would eventually soften him up and wear him down and force a stoppage... Lets see Welliver against Brian Minto first.

 

I'd be happy to see two top 25s in the ring together. Chris aint beating a K bro, and Haye will be passing his strap over to Wlad in the summer so why not get some more national exposure and elevate your status in the WBC.

Maybe, but I don't think this is what Cris has in mind at all, he did fight for the title, he's been tuning up is my point. I don't think he wants to tune up forever. I'm not saying Chauncy couldn't be competitive or even win, just that Cris is ranked top ten by the Ring and taking this fight is going the wrong way and is too risky for that. I'm doubting it happens, that's all. If I'm wrong I will be back to admit it.

Hey all. I love this fight and feel it will be good for whoever is watching. I think Chris would overlook me. I know a lot of people shoot down my power, but I don't think power would be a factor in this fight. I am working on my power and feel I now have enough to at least make him respect me. I have more power than a Zuri Lawrence and he beat some very credible guys, so I think skills can still be enough of a factor in this division.
Chris' a good fighter, and to be honest, one of my favorite heavyweights. He fights anybody, and who else can he fight coming up as I asked on the show?
I'm kinda in a "Damned if I do- Damned if I don't" situations. People ask me to step it up but when I try I get shot right back to where I was. I would like to at least think I'm a step up from Quezada, Abell, Agulera, and Releford.
If he keeps up his activity then me and him could be the most active heavies in the game and would be primed for eachother. My trainer Joe Hipp and I have been working on some very good things in the gym and I cannot wait to fight a Chris Arreola or Chris Arreola type guy in order to break out onto the big scene of the division.

As I said though, I am a fan of Chris reguardless and wish him the best (unless he fights me. haha)

Of course you would, but you're really not. You've yet to beat a top 50 opponent. At best, you're on par with these guys.

Actually Chris has already fought 2 or the top 5 hws unlike anyone else out there.. Not even the Klitchhkos have done that yet.. I think Arreola is just trying to stay active because thats his best way of staying in shape... if he were fighting a top contender he would probably have to take a few months off before they actually fought.. Actually nothing wrong with what Chris is doing at least he is staying active,unllike most hws.
