~~Lucy Butes title run has been worse than Sven Ottkes first four years!~~

As I already state, "fans" can be critics, everyone have the rights of their opinions. But in this case we have to put in perspective some facts:
1- the fight is in romania, i dont think any credible fighter will want to go there. So he make his dream to present a world title in his country and he do his mandatory at the same time.
2- I'm pretty sure that Showtime wants Bute because of his title. we dont know, but it may even be in his 3 fights contract with them that he need to have his belt or the deal and the fight with the S6 will not work.
3- It is a pretty bad match-up, and I dont know if any people here in Canada will watch this. I will not. And mark my word, a lot of his fans will be by your side if he doesnt fight next a Kessler (good fighter), a Pavlik (exposure) or a Steiglitz (for another belt).

 

They always defend Bute, it's never Bute's fault.....they always give him a pass and vow to jump off the wagon if the next fight isn't someone good, but then Bute signs another crap fight....rinse and repeat, and the Butards go on to defend it again and renew their vows to bail once again.

Bute fighting twice a year is the norm. You can't criticize him for that without criticizing the entire modern establishment. The better opposition argument is still up for grabs, though.

 

Why would no credible fighter want to fight Bute for the title in Romania?

Let's get real, nobody wants to actually fight him because it's plain as day he's the most skilled guy above 160. I'm not a big Bute booster at all and I'm not Canadian or Romanian but it's just obvious from watching the guy fight.

The thing is, his team has the TV contract and the local backing to put on some serious big money fights, but nobody has even called him out except an old as dirt Hopkins. Nobody seems interested. Not anyone in his weight class (Kessler, Pavlik, Quillin, whomever). Not anyone above (Dawson, Pascal). Not anyone below(Martinez, Williams).

That speaks for itself.

 

Bute didn't move over to Showtime to fight Magee and Mendy. He specifically came over because that's where the Super Six fighters were signed. He wanted the leverage to be able to make fights with them.

But regardless of what fights eventually go down, I expect Bute to be much avoided.

Bute v Dirrell
Bute v Martinez

 

Lets wait and see if Bute stay in the Ottke way. At least he's far more crowd pleasing. Sven will go down as a joke, Bute may look like a joke right now but at least he can rise his stock while Sven will forever be a joke.
