atsch Sorry but JOE was the same guy who got the crap bneat out of him for twelve rounds by a 168 pounder and was dropped hard by a 58 obese bartender if Im not mistaken ! JOE wa slow of foot and didnt take a great shot ! He would get hurt first and stopped in a fight that would never be competitive ! :good

The 168 pounder you're talking about was an irishman so that explains that, and that bartender may have koed Tua...something lewis failed at. Wlad is inclined to choke a bit under pressure. I see Joe being every bit competitive for Wlad. I don't see Wlads competition to date treading water with Louis. Louis is definitely in the fight!

 

JOES competion was a pathetic mix of talentless 180 somethings ! I understand the IRISH thing tho ! many REIDS and SULLIVANS in my own background ! Cheers !

 

wlad KO's louis's inside 5 rounds at most. most of you old timers dont seem to acknowledge wlad is a damn good outside fighter. louis has never faced some one as tall, strong and powerful who could move pretty well inside the ring. you guys seriously think louis just walks inside wlad's long stiff jab and jack hammer straight? there would be too much length to contend with. the first right wlad lands is likely to spark louis, or give him second thoughts about going in. also, inside the clinches/tie ups louis would be man handled by the much larger man. anyway joe would classified as a cruiser weight nowadays, where he would probably have more in h2h matchups with modern fighters.

the nuthuggin is embarrassing me...,lamont takes wlad out in 5 and joe is gonna get ko'ed early..,boxing is the one sport that the"new bigger stronger athlete" doesnt mean as much as you think go into any gym in the world it doesnt look that much different than 50,60,70 years ago..,and im a personal trainer!!!!!!!

You guys talk about Joe Louis like he was some kind of unskilled bum or a defensive passive boxer with no power.

NOBODY in this era has what Joe Louis brought to the table. At best Sam Peter is a poor man's George Foreman, and even he decked Waldo three times.

And don't forget the two men who stopped Joe Louis also happen to be two of the most durable heavyweights in boxing history - Schmeling and Marciano.

Do you honestly think someone is going to look back at Lamon Brewster or Corrie Sanders, and think of them to be on par with Marciano or Schmeling?

Training methods and nutrition have evolved by miles.
If u used a time machine to bring Louis to the year 2007 to fight this era of HW his record would be 0-100. :!:

That 6' 6" man was not fighting Joe Louis. Louis kicked the crap out of a few guys that weighed 250. Knocked their asses out. Abe Simon 6' 4" 255 pounds lost his first fight by KO to Louis in 13 rounds and 6 in a rematch.
While 6' 6.5" Buddy Baer who weighed 250 was KO'd in one by Louis.

Yes Louis KO'd Primo but Primo fought on the inside where Joe rules. No way would Klitschko let Louis fight toe to toe, Wlad would KO him from the outside.

 

I concider Joe Louis to be the best HW of all time based on accomplishments, not head to head. Same goes for Rocky Marciano.

 

He said that a 6' 6" man could hit a smaller man at will with right hands. Do you concur that even Wald could do that to Joe Louis?
