Ali weighed below 200 pounds earlier in his career. In 1967 he weight around 210lbs and walked around 225lbs. It's been known that Ali can easily shed 15-20 pounds.

Ali doesn't need to be 6'4 and hit like a mule. I'm telling you Klitschko has never faced someone like Ali. Saying he's too light or too small to compete with Klitschko is bull**** because he took Foreman's best shot and that hardly fazed him. Ali really had a great chin, sure he got koed a couple times, but it was really hard to knock him out, just ask Fraizer that. And if were talking about Ali in his prime, I think he would be too much for Klitschko.

I'm surprised at the number of posters on here who are picking Wlad. And not just the usual collection of Ali haters nor Wlad fanatics, but serious posters like yourself.

You pick Wlad by TKO in 6, which means you believe Ali would do more poorly than Brock or Byrd or Peter.

I'm a Wlad fan. He is, by a good measure, the best boxer out there today and IMO, would KO or TKO any current heavywt (except for a 'healthy Vitali). He continues to improve and could break into my top 10 list, depending on how the rest of his career goes.

Admittedly, I DO have Ali on a pedestal, but because he has proven he belongs there. And I would not suggest that Ali blows Wlad out.

(In fact, any fighter at that level can stop any other fighter on a given hight with a combination of getting good breaks and opponent carelessness: Joe Louis/Max Schmelling, Lennox Lewis/Haseem Rahman, etc.
But Lennox wins eight or nine times out of ten, as does Louis)

So it's POSSIBLE Wlad wins but you have to go with the most likely result on a given night.

Wlad would be troubled by Ali's movement from the get-go, and if he started to adjust, Ali would adjust again.

With the massive difference in footspeed and movement, and considerable difference in hand-speed, Wlad would be befuddled throughout the fight.

Wlad' jabs would NOT be landing at will. Too much speed difference. In fact, the reverse would be true. Ali's 'karate' style jabs, where he flicked his wrist at impact, would stand a good chance of cutting Wlad up.

    Ali 215
    Klitschko 242

    Ali 6' 3''
    Klitschko 6' 6.5 ''

    Ali 80 inches
    Klitschko 81 inches

So Ali would be giving up 27 lbs 3.5 inches in height and an inch in reach. (He gave up 30 lbs against Mathis).

These advantages would be more than offset by Ali's superior speed and athleticism, his boxing instincts and ring generalship, and his superior conditioning as the fight wore on.

Wlad has a pretty good chin, despite rumors to the contrary, so Ali would not stop him with any big shots. But Ali has a better chin, and Wlad could scarcely expect to land flush anyway.

In close, Wlad has learned how to clinch. Ali clinches better.

Ali's punch output and accuracy would be greater.

He was much stronger mentally than Wlad and paced himself much better.

He would be inside Wlad's head before the staredown.

I see this fight going badly for Wlad. He would take several rounds (all of which he would lose) to begin to adjust to something completely different from what he's ever seen. By then Ali would modify his gameplan again, and Wlad would be getting tired faster than Ali would. He might also have cuts.

I see this ending on cuts or exhaustion between the 11th and 14 th rounds, or, best case scenario for Wlad , a fairly one-sided loss by decision.

As far as speed is concerned: You have to discern absolute and relative speed. When you watch a small cessna vs a boing 747, which one looks faster? The cessna, although it is far slower, it still moves faster in relation to its size. Ali at 6'3 would need his superior relative speed to match Klitschko with his height and reach advantage. Many people thought Herbie Hide could use his speed to overwhelm Vitali, who looks slow with his lanky body and look how easily Vitali neutralized Hide's speed. Same for Pavlik - Taylor, the appearant speed difference was not really a factor. Pavlik looks slow with those long arms, but in reality is fast enough to beat Taylor to the ounch in many exchanges.

I still think that stylistically a somewhat in shape Sanders has the better tools to beat Wlad than Ali. Nobody has ever come close outbox Wlad, whereas Ali really struggled with the undersized Jones in his prime. Great punching power seems to be necessary to beat Wlad, Ali doesn't have it.

dicksheads ? why ? is it really far fetched ?
give me your reasons...(aside from the fact that Ali is an atg)...**** happens.

it happened to Lennox Lewis against Rahman.
it almost happened to a prime muhammad ali against Henry Cooper (a bum).

    i voted Draw/Can't Decide anyway..

    &&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

If you read my post I said nobody but did not leave out Frazier,Foreman and Ali, I would not dismiss Vlads chances against them but I would not say if anyone of the 3 came back in there prime today it would be a SURETHING for them to be champ. I would bet a lot of money that Shavers,Quarry,Bonavena,Foster,Bugner,Lyle,Norton would be dispatched by todays fighters, they were good but would not be Champion today

If Ali is that superior, why he almost lost to Doug Jones, Henry Cooper.
Hell the people who put these old guys into god status are simply silly pussies who masturbate on men.

ali lost to norton, yes i know he got a broken jaw, the second fight he won by sd, the third one was close too. how would wlad do in a norton trilogy? do you seriously think it would be close? he would crush norton much like foreman, shavers and cooney did. ali went 45 rounds with glass chinned norton but you don't give wlad a chance at going the distance with him?
you also underestimate wlad's ability to take a shot. he took some good powershots from peter, mercer and brewster without going down. and when he was floored he got back up straight. i give wlad a good chance against ali, as i give lennox lewis a even bigger chance, both are comparable in their fighting style and power.
