I can't see Groves winning this. I think DeGale will be too slick for him and I expect the fight to be stopped.

i actually believe these two are very closely matched.the deciding factor is all mental.degale has got that punchy idiot mcdonell shouting incoherent gibberish at him between rounds.groves has the world heavyweight champion(of sorts)haye, and psychological wizard adam booth in his corner, keeping him pumped up throughout.i know who i'd rather have on my side.go george, make that ******* eat humble pie...

DeGale to win on points, although I would prefer to see Groves win as I prefer him as a fighter but I believe DeGale can do more on the world stage

    DeGale UD

I thought George's chin was horrendous James? hahahaha.

Fantastic performance from George in a close fight. I had Groves winning the fight by a round - he stuck to his game plan, moved well, threw more and out landed Degale. Well deserved decision.

Thanks. It is a pity I didnt put any money on it:patsch

Degale needs to leave McDonnell, he fought the wrong fight. i think he is stronger and faster but Booth really did a job on his opposite number with the gameplan. Absorbing fight, so happy for Groves:happy

I decided to put a bet on Groves today to win. Was going to bet Groves by KO, then found it was better odds for Groves on points, so just bet on Groves to win at 11/4.
I thought initially DeGale, but thought this morn that George has better footwork and DeGale seems to plant his feet to throw fast combinations. I thought Groves would box on the outside and decided to bet on George.
I thought if the Anderson and Smith fights hadnt have happend respectively, I would have clearly picked for George. It wasnt a confident bet, but a gut feeling that Groves would box on the outside.

Before the result was announced DeGales trainer said something to DeGale and told DeGale to keep quiet. It looked like they thought they had confirmation of a win???
