They don't understand that Floyd got hit with a monster shot that he didn't see and he stayed on his feet. Its hilarious how they have to look at 3 fights out of his entire career and talk **** about him getting stunned. Corley stunned him and then got stunned himself in the same round. Judah stunned him and got his ass beat too. Mosley won 30 secs of a 12 round fight. :bart

Well, Floyd ain't going better as time passes. His ability to absorb punches lowers due to inactivity. Morales vs Maidana is a perfect example of how an old body react through constant aggression.

Does Floyd regulary go to the gym? I hope so if he wishes to be competetive against someone of Pacquiao's caliber.

But the thing is Floyd RARELY EVER gets hit flush because he's SO good.

So the fact that he got wobbled by basically all the FLUSH shots he got hit by means that his chin is still questionable.

And Mosley landed about 100 counterpunches on Margarito, IE punches he didn't see coming.

So, what exactly is so hard to understand?

Yes, Floyd has excellent skills and great defense which is why IF his opponents DO manage to hit him, they never lay another flush shot on him.

IE Mosley, Judah, and Corley never hit him again with anything.

    So...

Questions are still out about his chin. But his skills are so good, it's not really an issue.

I'm not so sure it works like that. I believe it is the accumulations of punches that lowers a fighters punch resistance. There might be some truth to the inactivity but physologicly I don't see the connection other than conditioning.

Because counter punching don't require top notch reflexes. Floyd lovers are the best in the sport.

Morales eye swelled above normal for his fight against Maidana, and Emmanuel Stewart was quick to point out that Morales's skin tissue didn't react well because he was away too long from the ring.
It's more about adaptation and how fast your body reacts against a physical stimulation.
Do you know why Pacquaio reacts relatively well to body punches?
He is regulary getting hit with bamboo sticks on all over his body. And that's painful.

Yes, RJJ relied on reflexes and speed. Once he slowed down he was vulnerable. Not being able to react as fast as he should has given him the most problems. Most elite fighters as they age could still see some of the punches coming but they can't react fast enough to get out of the way. Floyd still has very good reflexes based on his last fight. But once it slows down a bit, he will experience to a lesser extent what RJJ is sadly going through. One thing is for sure, Floyd can survive 12 rds, win, lose or draw against anybody in his weight range. He has the style to be a survivor. I hope he fights this yr, not necessarily againse Pac but against anybody, Berto, Ortiz in particular. The longer he stays inactive the more at risk he is when he fights.

Conditioning the body yea and taking blows to the head is not exactly the same thing. Once the brain is damaged (concision - a cut on the brain tissue) it's preventing signals from traveling the normal path. Some believe that the body (brain) can heal by redirecting those signals around the scar tissue using another path but it's never going to be the same as the original. Thus the more accumulative damage the easier it is to knock out a fighter. Of course there is a whole lot of complexity that goes in there but I don't think it works like conditioning.

I mostly agree to your post and you are right about the complexity of a KO.
Medically speaking, there are several types of KOs (let's focus on the head section):
-cerebral KO (the most common) is when the brain is moved inside the cranium. Airforce pilots encounters the same phenomena when they do brutal High-G turns. Training tends to reduce this risk.
-vascular KO is when a shock ruptures an artery inside the brain which induces inconsciousness and partial paralysis. Training can't do anything about it.
-neurovegetative KO is when a shock affects the nervous system and gets "short-circuited". Nothing you can do about it either.

It all comes down to the boxer's physiology. Some boxers are more prone to get cerebral KOs than others and in that case, they can have more KO resistance with training. Other boxers are more prone to neurovegetative KOs, and i guess you can qualified them as "glass jaws".

Floyd Mayweather does not have a great chin. If Khan (for example) got shook by Chop Chop Corley like Mayweather did the glass-jaw brigade would have an absolute field day. :rasta

No real boxing fan would hope for such a thing. Hate all you want but, show respect to those who earned it.
