Concerned that Floyd is getting too old, Mayweather Sr says a couple of tune-ups might be needed

“I know exactly how to tell my son [how] to beat Pacquiao. I know how to tell my son how to beat him, but, you know what? You gotta remember, every day, he’s getting older,” stated Floyd Mayweather Sr., who spoke about his son, Floyd Mayweather Jr., and the possibility of a fight with Manny Pacquiao. According to Mayweather Sr., although he’s confident that he has the right gameplan to secure a victory over the Filipino superstar, he’s concerned that his son may be spending too much time away from the ring and may require, not one, but possibly two tune-up fights before a fight with Pacquiao can come to fruition.

“I don’t care who it is, man. Anybody that stays out of a ring, I don’t give a damn who they is…it’s something to be concerned about, anybody being out a length of time, because boxing, man, you have to, in order to stay crisp and sharp, you gotta be sparring and stuff,” Mayweather Sr. would tell FightHype’s own Ben Thompson in an exclusive interview. “It is a deal where he might have to fight a couple of tune-ups.”

No doubt. Regardless of age that length of time out of the ring requires a tune up first before a fight with Pacman

I wish Floyd would just do the right thing, and come out and announce his retirement from the sport. If he's got no intentions of fighting again, then quit pretending like he's going to. I understand he wants to keep his name in the media, etc, but there comes a time when you just have to grow the **** up, and move on. If you're happy with what you've done in your career and value your health more, then call it a day. There's nothing wrong with just being honest about it.

No like dela hoya, hatton, mosley and now marquez.

And technically JMM is not pac's left over or the p4p number 1 wouldn't need to fight him for a 3rd time now. :rofl

    This is to easy.:deal

one thing with money may is he's very obedient with his elders. big floyd advised his son to avoid poochiao back in late 2009 and so far he is very obedient. now, let's see if he would get a tune-up or two just because big floyd said it...

2 tuneups with 24/7 each making out like its the fight of the century raking in 25mil per fight. Then he will retire for another 2 years until IRS comes knocking...then he will need tuneups again.

Manny took all the required test, but then the scared coward doesn't want to fight.
