Not exactly something you want to hear from a world champion. Hes right that he is green and he looks like an amateur in there, but the fact that he immediately recognizes that only shows how weak of a champion he was. Pascal just always seems unsure of himself in and out of the ring. Everything about his body language and the way he fights looks weary and desperate. Fighters like him can be broken easily, and against a mentally bulletproof guy like Hopkins, he will always be the weaker fighter in the ring. Tarver and Johnson would have also beat Pascal almost every time out because of their self belief and toughness.

    Some good points:think

  3. Agreed... Pascal shows signs of Self-doubt. You can see it when he stood next to Hopkins. He seemed to actually believe what Hopkins was saying most of the time. Hopkins knew this and planted these thoughts into Pascal's mind.

I respectfully disagree. Bhop was just on another level as far as experience and grit. But how can we forget that Pascal has fought through shoulder injuries, back and fourth battles with dicanaue and especially froch. And he was the guy forcing the fight with Dawson, running in unafraid and pounding him the whole fight. He was a good champion and will only improve. He has the warrior mentality, and we ALL know its so damn hard to look good against Bhop. Lets not degrade Pascal, when it was still a damn close fight.

Tarver and Johnson? LMAO, you don't know boxing, do you? That's why Dan Rafael gave a 114/114 this fight. Hopkins totaly shootout both...

I dont think he is that weak mentally, he was very tough and showed heart, he was just outclassed skillwise and hopkins destroyed him mentally, but that is more credit to hopkins then its pascal being weak, how would you feel if your the champ fighting a old man who is taking rounds from you and while you are tiring he is doing push ups before the round starts. Pascal has potential, he needs to keep working hard and try to get more stamina and become more accurate, he is fast and powerfull but fights in spurts, also his footwork needs improvement, hopkins footwork was way better last night.

You would take Pascal over Tarver or Johnson?

I disagree. He doesn't make efficient use of his energy, he can't be green.
Don't let Pascal take away from BHOPS accomplishment with this remark.

Hopkins handpicks. As much as this is seen as so great, the guys who have won this record Foreman in 1994 and Hopkins now had weak opponents which allowed them to win at 45 and 46. Foreman couldnt beat Holyfield and Morrison. Hopkins-Calzaghe.

I do, I think hes unsure of himself. he fights hard when he is forced to fight hard. Hopkins forced the action. Pascal was rarely ever first. Same with Froch. Pascal is a negative fighter. Even when he hurt Hopkins it was like he didnt even know how to try to get him out of there. he hesitated and went back to moving around and basically hoping he could land a wild punch.

At this point in their careers, Pascal would beat both Tarver and Johnson, and it would be easy. It would be a 50/50 fight against these guys in their primes. Tarver and Johsnon aren't HOF fighters, Hopkins is a first ballot type guy, if their is such a thing in boxing.

No way. Dont get me wrong, Pascal is not a horrible fighter, hes just very flawed. Either way, I dont think he regains the title anytime soon. I still think a fight with Bute could be interesting though.

It just shows that he is committed to improving. When you fight a guy like Hopkins who has all the experience in the world, you face certain situations where you don't know exactly how to react. All he was trying to say is that he is still young and will get better. I think he's right and it was a good comment.
