I aint gonna lie, I choked up and my heart sank when he slumped down to the canvass. I thought he was dead or badly hurt. Really an awful moment. He should never put himself of his family through that again. He should he training in the gym for a couple months.

I agree but they love to ignore this little fact. What Roy did against Vinny Paz was way more classless and worse than what happened to him last night. But since it is "Roy Jones" his fanboys on here act like it is OK. :rofl

Too bad for Roy. He was always one of my favorite fighters to watch but this is just sad. I hope he retires and if he doesn't, just go fight bums in Florida. Don't keep embarrassing yourself. He really is ruining his legacy. He'll always be remembered as an ATG but you look at what hopkins is doing compared to Roy and it's just sad he fell so fast so quick.

 

It's sad that Roy's ego and pride keep him coming back (and the money, of course). This guy had such a stellar prime, already an ATG by his early-thirties in the eyes of many, and then the losses start to pile up. And these aren't controversial split-decsion-Fres-Oquendo losses...these are violent, brain-damaging annihalations. I won't beg Roy to quit, but he guy really needs to salvage some dignity and stop this crap.

 

I think you're missing the point of what Rico is trying to say. I don't want any fighter to end up like Ali or other fighters who took one to many shots to the head but if a guy keeps on stepping in the ring to fight, it is his own damn fault. I have no idea why he keeps on doing it. Money? Pride? Whatever the reason is, it is RJJ that is doing it.

 

Well it's the fight game and its what happens all the time. In his prime, RJJ used to destroy guys, GUYS WHO WERE GOOD FIGHTERS, a few soft spots who he had no mercy on at times. It's how it works in boxing and it has happened to all the greats at some point.

 

He will still be my favorite I have learned to accpet these type of fights because Jones is not the first legend to fight long past his best ..He dominated for over 15 yrs beat some hall of famers and won a HW title ..Who else can even come close to what he actually did ? No one ..He should just hang them up and enjoy the fruits of his labor ..

 

I couldn't and won't even watch that fight even before it happened. I knew something like this was going to happen

 

Am I wrong for admitting that I laughed for about 45 minutes after watching? I kept tryin to find the replay on youtube but was unsuccesful ... Man that **** was HILARIOUS.
