Haye VS Wlad - Question.

Haye will follow a similar gameplan I'd imagine but his task is far greater.

1. Haye has a much larger gap to close when countering. Groves is only an inch shorter than Degale but Haye is 4" shorter than Wlad. So Haye will need to be quicker coming in, and have the defence to not get hit on the way in.

2. Groves could afford to take a few on the cheen from Degale because Degale isn't a huge puncher. Wlad would KO Haye if he landed similarly clean punches.

3. Unlike Groves, Haye can't win a decision. Wlad has never lost a decsion in his pro career and isn't going to start against a guy who's a banger and not a boxer. Wlad's jab and home advantage means Haye will be forced to go for the KO, and will have to take more risks.

That said, Haye will be less of an underdog than Groves was!

Wlad could lose, not saying it can't happen. an hayes is a puncher, saying this, wlad is a p4p champ, he been in the pro game along time, an for the past 11 years he has caried a major belt every year but 3 of them. He has lost maybe 10 rounds in those 11 years at a champion ship level. Hayes will need more then booth to prevent a pizza from forming on his face.

I see Booth and Haye employing a hit and move gameplan. Will it work? I don't know. But I imagine their gameplan will not get Haye KO'd. He'll at the very least give a decent account in a losing effort.

 

In terms of world/Euro level DeGale and Groves are both prospects, so there is still a lot we don't know about both of them. Haye is taking on an established champion who has been on top of the division for years. Whatever happens between Klitschko and Haye (and nobody can say for certain) it's fair to say no one will be getting exposed. We already have an idea of the weaknesses of both fighters

 

wlad, an established amateur, olympic gold medalist, over 50 pro fights, 18 world title fights...its gonna take a little more than a game plan for a guy like haye to win...his game plan that would be th eonly one that can work, is to land a big punch...he wont outbox wlad...wlads not a 10-0 fighter like degale and groves

 

Agree with both of these but I'd say Haye has less of a chance of winning than Groves did.

Haye can obviously beat Wlad. It's not like Wlad has a good chin or anything, and with Haye's combination of hand speed and power anythings possible. I think it's the first time in Wlad's career he's stepping in the ring against a guy whose a better athlete than him. While I am favoring Wlad in this fight, it will be his toughest opponent since Sam Peter back in September of 05.

I am anxious to see this fight. It is funny to note that Rahman was probably the truest/hardest hitting opponent Wlad has faced, the ******* was WAY TOO SLOW to mount any kind of offense.

Haye will be able to land something. And when he does, the ChinCheckers will be there.

 

I think when Haye lands, you'll see that Wlad's ability to take it is not as bad as most want to believe.

 

Well, I thought Groves had more of a chance than most people here did, and I don't mean betting odds wise, just results.
