spot on mate. It's alright saying this is professional boxing, but there are rules. Groves handled it well and didn't moan or complain which shows he was prepared to accept the tactics and get on with it. Doesn't change the fact that the refferee is there to enforce the rules though, and a point or 2 should have come off.
I also had it one round for groves, I wish the ref had done something about the illegal actions also. To me Groves decided how it would be fought, where they'd fight it in the ring, e.t.c and just seemed generally smarter and more skilful. yes Degale caused more damage but that was generally due to head-butts. as for his punches being harder; does that mean both of the clean ones? I hope Groves goes on to do well!
Addie you ****in. Nobjockey ,crawl out of degales arse he wouldn't **** on u if u was on fire groves,is the real man degales a little mincer anything bad that happens to warren and degale is great for me pair of mugs
When you say Degale pressed the action - he walked forward for most of the fight whilst not letting his hands go to any extent. To me that is not pressing the action which would be forcing the other guy to engage. As for more damage, it seemed the cuts and bruises to both men came from headbutts rather than any punch landed. However, if you just mean who hurt the other man more I will agree with you. Whatever you think about what would have been good for the sport, would you accept that this should be good for James Degale as long as he deals with defeat properly? He didn't turn up as people expected him to and whether that was because of the camp or his on mental state; something should change. Hopefully, it will propel him to be a much better overall fighter.
elaborate on that for me will you....i wasnt paying enough attention to what was happening in degales corner between rounds.....what was mcdonnell tactics??...how was he in the corner?...what was he telling degale ?
Spot on. fight could have gone either way but i gave it to degale for pressing and landing cleaner shots.
This is the best breakdown of the DeGale-Groves fight I've seen so far... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVou0d5khDY[/ame] This content is protected
a very close fight that promises for an exciting rematch which i think degale wins convincingly but lets see how it pans out i would love to see the rematch at a world stage in 5-7 fights time (all going well) when they are closer to the finished model. I mean come on people these guys are 10 /13 fights in lets give them a break and see where they end up.
Weird bump. The decision could have just as easily went to De Gale and I'd have no complaints. Was one of the toughest fights to judge in recent years. Glad Groves got the nod though.
