Martinez doesn't need to beat Pacquiao or Mayweather to be P4P best. If he'd ever decide to move up in order to test himself with the winner of the S6 and beat him, I would automatically put him as P4P #1.

I agree with him as far as Floyd and him going the distance. He might also be right about Pac getting KO. Pac likes to engage which would leave him open for counters, if he gets hit by the same punch that Martinez hit Williams with it's lights out for Pac. Pac can't do the same to Martinez who is the bigger man. As we all seen in the Margarito fight, Pac does not have the same power that he have in the lower classes.

so now all these top welters and light welters are pac cherry-pick just because martinez said it?

can you go back 3 years ago and say that it was a cherry-pick for pacquiao when he fought hatton and cotto? whom should he fought then if not for them?

i still think pacquiao fought margarito With caution until he tested him out and gain a bit of confidence, remember how he started to move when marg pound him to the body, he likes to engage but he did a good job at avoiding body shots after marg landed those, i think we never know what he will do.

Chances are this fight will never happen because Martinez is not going to bend to give Pac the advantage.

He claims wanting to proove to be the best P4P... claiming to do this by beating mayweather or pacquiao sounds ******ed...

Ive never heard of prooving to be the best by going down to fight smaller guys, theres a handfull of great fighters just 8lbs north available to fight. His Height seems to help him in thinking he's not that big but his structure and build and overall strenght says different. now Tito Trinidad, now he never had the build to be at 160 IMO... he was a slim as they came. yeah with some crazy abnormal power at 154 but at 160 vs hopkins he looked terrible, and vs Jones, lets not even say anything. To me his true home was 147-154.

Back to the subject if he really meant prooving to be the best by performance itself as a fighter, then he'd done what everyone does when they think there not prooving enough in there division and still have the a bit of size and height to consider a higher weight, they go up. thats what they do they dont go down to fight smaller guys. you take the challenge to fight the stronger bigger men. his actions have the symbol $$$ all over it...

lol, the haters cry because Pac didn't stay at 135 and 140 and clean out the divisions. Then, he stays at 147, cleans out the division, (except for that one fight that ain't gonna happen) and the haters accuse him of cherry-picking. :patsch

God damn this guy just needs to move up ONE division and fight the best, simple. Plenty of guys to prove his greatness against there.

Well maybe Great is giving to much credit, but if your fighting at the 160lb division and weight 170lb on fight night then what the hell is to proove fighting these guys that are natural welters and dont pass 158lb on fight night or when they are on vacation a few weeks after a tough fight. maybe mayweather surpasses 147 and 158 and can fit into 154 but theres nothing to proove in wanting to fight them when you can fight , froch, ward, abraham, johnson, kessler. which are obviously more of a threat than fighting pac and mayweather being the guys i mentioned are bigger guys. mayweather offers his defensive boxing abilities but look at the size he gives away, when martinez can fight Ward which doesn't posess the skill floyd has but carrys his own in the same departments and has speed, and is bigger than martinez. doesn;t make sense to fight may or pac unless its about the benjamins and thats what it seems its about to be honest about the ching ching-$$$

maybe there not exacly "great" but one thing for sure is Klessler and froch are way ffar from regular.

Martinez and diBella have both said Martinez can't make 154, and they have said it a dozen or more times. And yet, he keeps talking about a fight at 154. He needs to give it up, and realize that a guy who enters the ring at 170 pounds is not a junior middleweight.

The man is becoming a bigger joke every day. The stupid ****er thinks moving up the P4P ranks means beating up little guys. The man is a moron, and one of the worst hype jobs I've seen in over 4 decades as a boxing fan. If he was the real thing he would not be scared shitless of 168.
