Let's say Pac/Floyd was signed in the near future with all parties happy - this would presumably include OSDT, weight penalties, etc. Who on ESB would be willing to back up their outright winner prediction with cash? And how much would you wager? There's a lot of back and forth arguing and confident disagreement between Floyd backers and Pacquiao backers on ESB, so it would be interesting to see who would actually be willing to put their money where their mouth is. All hypothetical of course, as this fight isn't happening anytime soon. Personally, I'd bet anyone who would take me up on it around $1000 that Mayweather wins.
Hell no, especially since Pac's been fighting lackluster competition and Floyd's been completely absent from class.
I sometimes like to get drunk and bet on a little ball spinning around a bicolored wheel, so let's not get all sensible here.
If they have OSDT and blood was drawn less than 14 days, I would not place my bet. I'm not betting on a weakened fighter whose style is high energy. Ever wonder why they stopped blood testing Shane and Floyd 18 days? It sure wasn't because they said they had no reason to believe they would cheat. That's BS, because if that was the case, they would have stopped urine testing as well.
I would definitely. I was gonna put some money down when Bodog had it about even odds for PBF. I thought for sure the fight would get made right after Cotto. Right now i would say about $500 sounds reasonable in PBFs favor. I almost would say by way of TKO but to be safe i would just pick PBF outright.
if this fight happens...i will have tons of side bets with friends and coworkers....but ive seen plenty of lines on it...usually with floyd as a slight fave...in the -150 to -130 range.....ill probably plop down at least 10k on floyd...maybe more depending on the line moves or how im feeling as it were to draw near if i were feeling even more confident youll never get as good of a line on either guy....so if you love either figther in this fight...its a great money making opp.
Anyone betting big money on this is either stupid, has too much money, or both. It's not a case of, "can Fighter A beat Fighter B', it's 'how many times out of ten would Fighter A beat fighter B' - and at this level the chances of that being 0 (for either fighter) is small. Personally I think Floyd beats him 7/10, but that's certainly not enough for me to make a big bet.
If I had to put money, it would be on FMJ. However, Pac has a good chance because he is a very dangerous fighter. That is why $ is not taking a fight. He knows he can probably win but he has been conservative in his fight career in the last few years.
No tune up for Floyd.... then i'm staying out of the bet. If Floyd have a tune up then.... I will bet on Floyd. now if floyd looks like crap on the tune then i'm staying the hell away too. but i don't think i would bet on pac to beat mayweather. Is hard to bet against him, the guy adjusts way too good.
FYI, I was specifically referring to informal one vs one outright bets against someone with an opposing view, rather than a bookie or betting agent. No one's getting 2/1 for an outright win on this fight.
Let's say Pac comes in at +250 which is most likely given his last performance. Money comes in at -150! I'd have to put that 500 on Money.
