Haha, true. Most inexperienced guys at the gym just headhunt in sparring and throw every single shot to the head.
Its definately better to mix in alot of body shots, its a great way to finish someone aswell if you hurt them.

Usually 2 times. 3 times at most. Otherwise it's easy to overtrain, for me at least.

When I first started to get serious about the sport, I did 18 rounds of training then I would do 3-4-5-6 rounds of sparring, which in insight was really stupid. There was a week I did 5 days of sparring. Not a good idea! :D

Better do 2 days of sparring after a little warm up of shadow boxing or rope. :good

Chavez was the greatest body puncher for me.

Wow, how often is your local boxing club open. Or do you do some of this at home or with your friends?
Our boxing club only has sessions four days a week. I normally spar about twice. I'd love to spar every night I go if I could though. I love sparring and would do it all day and never get nervous before but for some reason before my fights I used to get so nervous and worry about stupid things like getting knocked out.
I was alot more relaxed for my last fight though.
And I hate those bloody skipping ropes cause theres only a few good ones in our club. I always end up taking the worst one and looking like the ****** that cant skip to safe his life.

The first time I lost a match was from a liver shot - it hurt my hole body all the way to the bottom of my feet.

After the match I immediately went to the toilette with diarrhea from that ****. :scaredas:

    Worst pain ever.

    :deal

You ever have times where you know you just got hit with a massive body shot, and that millasecond before you feel the pain, you just know it's coming. I hate that ****

I know any abdomen can be broken down with time but thankfully i have been able to take some good shots and barely feel anything, i got caught a shot to the liver before and barely felt it but i wont take them lightly any given day i can be caught on the perfect spot and go down.

I remember being upset with cotto turning into a headhunter when he was perfect display of a tough body puncher and threw it tons of time better than the hook one upstairs, but oh well. When i use to see him go for it, it used to tickle me when it would land, lol... one of the best body punchers of this generation.

2nd round. Was never hit like that again after that fight though.

Hurt like a mother - was like 15 years ago but when I think of it I can almost feel it.

The only good thing is, correct me if I'm wrong but in general body shots arent gonne leave the permanent damage that getting punched in the face and knocked out can do.
I'd rather see my favourite fighter get KO'ed with a body shot rather than head evenn though the body shot would probably hurt a hell of a lot more at the time.

    :yep

Yea that "OMFGdamnit" millasecond before the pain sets in.

It's weird, it stops your feet, and it's like you can't breathe in. I could always continue, but I've never fought (sparred) someone trying to kill me ya know.

I couldn't imagine getting hit with Mickey Ward left to the body.
