It was just an example, I haven't really placed him. Top hundred definitely. He's established himself as a great superfeatherweight and picked up the championship at lightweight and welter but his resume is razor thin
I literally don't know what to say about your inclusion of norris and byrd in the top ten. Why man? Why? Mine is: fitz, greb, langford, louis, robinson, armstrong, ali, pep, charles, duran, burley, walker, b. Leonard, moore, whittaker, r. Leonard, gans, holyfield, monzon, hagler, jofre, wilde, arguello, hoya. There is one man i've forgotten and can't for the life of me remember.
Maybe Norris and Byrd should have been a little lower , but for such a little man to fight on even terms with the likes of McCall , Tucker , Golotta , Greg Page , Renaldo Snipes and to last 12 rounds against Akiwande , again , this is a little man , are all P4P remarkable achievements . Byrd's achievements were about as impressing , highlighted by making Vitali punch his shoulder out until he had to quit.
why is no one mentioning jake la motta?? he was the first man to lick sugar ray robinson when sugar ray was at his absolute peak!!
Maybe , just maybe they're not top 10 , but since you didn't post your top 30 , how can you discedit my list ? They are top 30 for sure.
I did. Here it is again. Fitz Greb Langford Louis Robinson Armstrong Ali Pep Charles Duran B. Leonard Burley Walker Gans Moore Whittaker R. Leonard Monzon Holyfield Tunney Rocky Hagler Jofre Wilde Hoya That's my top 25. The next 5 are: Arguello Sanchez Dempsey Griffith Saddler
Ezzard Charles was stopped by men his own size during and near his prime much more than Byrd or Norris did. He didn't face their adversity though. He never had to fight a Klitschko , a McCline , a Tua or even a mere Tucker or Akiwande . He rarely even fought people of Greg Page's , Hassim Rahman's or Renaldo Sinpes' size . And when he went into the ring against a shot Louis he didn't even hurt him so he didn't beat him. Fitz ? not a top 20 let alone #1 . the guy was stopped frequently during his prime and it's not like his opposition was that good. Greb above Langford ? for losing twice to the man Langford KOd on blind ? Did Greb ever face a Harry Wills or a Fred Fulton ? Louis ? p4p top 30 ? for being the bigger man plodding and being constantly embarrassed by smaller men , twice getting stopped by them and twice losing the decision ? you know Walcott beat him in their first fight. He was even embarrassed in some of his real victories . Robinson ? for being the Vitali Klitschko of the welterweight division ? I don't think so . Not a top 10. he avoided Basilio and went 2 actual draws against a much smaller Basilio . stopped by Maxim and that was after he handpicked Maxim instead of facing a dangerous lightheavy . Wilde ? who did he beat ? did he fight the tough opposition Byrd and Norris fought as often ? And just like them he got stopped eventually. Whitaker ? for being a disgusting spoiler ? he too was stopped despite of it and I doubt if he ever beat anyone after being his 2 ugly ring appearances against Ramirez. Ramirez really did win their first encounter and never lost the second. I guess the average Whitaker fight could be compressed into an overall 50 seconds of borderline action. Holyfield ? midget Qawi schooled him in their first fight. One must wonder why the rematch did not occur immediately . Holyfield also had the benefits of a torn glove against Bert Cooper and was still floored , Tyson woulda raped him that night. Ali ? quite bad . Ali was schooled by smallish Doug Jones whom was not the most durable of men , neither one of the stronger , the quicker , the smarter , but he made Ali look like the ****** he really was. Ali would have gotten stopped by Henry Cooper if it wasn't for Ali's smelling salts and Cooper's alcoholic's skin. Just think about these.
I was going to reply but i've come to the conclusion you're either joking or trolling and I have time for neither. Have a good day sir.
Basilio is a very underrated fighter.. But it's interesting you put on the greb-langford comparison on who is the better fighter prime for prime
