Degale talking about improvement?

Could you re-write this so that it makes sense.

 

I tend to think Groves's awkwardness, the rhythm he fights in, might just always give De Gale problems. I guess Groves is slightly unconventional with his footwork, the way he feints etc, so maybe that rhythm he fights in, just offsets De Gale's timing some what?

With fighters who have an erratic type of rhythm, you want to stabilize them, stick the jab on them to get their rhythm and movements down, only De Gale never did that with Groves, so maybe that's why he has trouble timing Groves attacks?

Pernell Whitaker used to have trouble with awkward fighters imo(Gary Jacobs, Poli Diaz), but by the mid rounds, he'd always work them out, and start to get their timing down, then start to dominate, but Whitaker had a good jab.

 

I reckon he meant -

As well as calling Groves Ugly Kid, Degale mentioned that he had improved as a fighter and would beat Groves despite the amateur loss. Groves told us that Degale would not have a plan B. This turned out to be correct as he left Degale looking poor, defused and lacking ideas. Did Degale simply fall apart? Or was Groves always better? Credit to Groves for taking the game away from Degale.

 

DeGale got a little frustrated and didn't have a plan B. He can come back, use the jab more, cut off the ring more, break guys down to the body more etc

 

Groves destroyed Degale?? He won a fight that could have gone either way. Aside from his defense Groves didn't show a great offense either. When he did go forward and tried to put shots together he got beat up a bit by Degale.

Strange how people seem to have seen the fight as a one sided beat down by Groves. atsch

I bet Degale feels destroyed. All that Trash talking and pre-fight hype resulting in a loss!!

I dont think anyone would back Groves in an immediate rematch in the next fight.

Lets face it Groves nicked it, but an immediate rematch and I believe that Degale would use the right tactics. Even though Groves is unpredictable.

 

I peronally believe that groves has always had Degales number, and degale knew this also, and it showed in the fight.

 

I scored the fight to DeGale as did a large number of others.
It was so close that you couldnt say either fighter outclassed or outworked the other.
Groves' tactics were spot on and nulified most of what DeGale does...this time.

I don't think that Groves has his number at all...he won a scrappy fight by being very negative and very well organised.

Saying all that DeGale looked very short of ideas and great credit has to go to Groves' team for working out a brilliant tactical game plan.

I don't see why anyone would think that. He still hadn't figured him out at the end of the fight. If he was more aggressive early on, Groves would be even more effective.

DeGale just isn't as good as many believed.

 

That remains to be seen.... :nut
