Mayweather is the WRONG answer. The question asked about "technical" skill, not "God given talent". Who in the world is more technically skilled than Hopkins? He is a walking textbook on how to fight. Floyd relies heavily on his reflexes, that is why few people can fight his style because it's so dependent on reflexes and God given talent.

Whittaker and Mayweather aren't technical masters. They are both just gifted atheletes, like Ali, Roy Jones and to a lesser extent...Prince Nassem...who have some skill and are able to excel because of gods gifts, not amazing technique.

Hopkins on the other hand is a technical master who survives by it, not by some amazing reflexes or footspeed.

Tyson, also better technically than the guys you listed, doesn't get enough credit for his defense, footwork and ring generalship.

A lot of people seem to think Mayweather's defense is based purely on reflexes, when infact he has very good anticipation of shots. Obviously reflexes help, but his defense isn't going to crumble as his reflexes go.

No it isn't. Roy Jones relied on god given ability. Floyd uses his skill with his god givin ability. If Floyd isn't more skilled, I would sure like to know why most if not all boxers say he is the most skilled?

    Felix Sturm...followed by those guys.

I've never seen Floyd show the type of skill Hopkins did against Trinidad. That was something else. Floyd is amazing, no doubt about it...but he has physical tools b-hop simply doesn't have. And that's a big reason why he's so successful. He's gifted, but doesn't have the pure craft, skill, and ring intellect that hopkins had in his best days. Don't confuse that with me saying Floyd isnt highly skilled. Again, he's brilliant in his own right and in his own way.

This isnt even close because Floyd has everything is his arsenal except that one punch power.

    Defense A+
    Jab A+
    Hook A+
    Speed A+
    Footwork A+
    Stamina A+
    Power B
    Adjusts A+
    Chin A+
    Body P A

No one else comes close except Hopkins. Jones never used a Jab and his chin once tested was suspect. Calderon im sorry technically is as good but below Marquez IMO. So I think Floyd and Marquez then Hopkins.

Got there before me. The guy is basically technically perfect. He's getting old and fighting way outside his natural weightclass and still battering the best there is.
