Juan Manuel Marquez has decided not to defend his titles again Diaz after he asked for too much money.
Who would be a better opponent for his tune up fight in July?
    maybe someone at welterweight?

What about Margo or Clottey? High risk but worth taking just to prove that he's not in it for the money.

Yeah Judah would be a good one, but I think Khan has got that 1. Not sure if he would like to fight Chris John after he was robbed last time!
Margo or clottey? yeah, a bit too risky :p

Should fight Antonio Demarco. Pretty routine win and a good name to add to the resume.

he should not fight anyone, just go straight to pac, because if he ****s up in his next fight he misses out on the biggest payday of his life. If he does decides to fight anyone it will not be judah.marg, clottey or someone dnagerous like that but a really soft fight where he is a huge favourite to win, marquez' life after boxing is influenced by him getting that big money fight, why risk it?

Its a bit of a long time to go without a fight, But It's true what you said about him taking a high risk fight, no point, It will still need to be someone half decent tho!

he should fight someone decent at 140, as a tune up to prepare him for pac. And I think not just any tune up but someone that could make him stay sharp like holt, kotelnik, witter. Fights with these dudes will not be all that risky for marquez and would still sell despite being a tune up for him

Hell for purists sake Soto would be nice and it adds more to his legacy than Diaz.

Why cant he fight some guys off the record in the gym like it were real fights, I read leonard did that for the hagler fight, that way he wont put the pac fight at risk.

that would be a bigger fight than his last fights against diaz and katsidis. Soto is no tune up caliber, he is a champ

I wouldn't go for Kotelnik. He's not an opponent who'd provide an easy night for JMM.

It doesn't matter who it is, really. He just needs to stay active, and if it's against a southpaw like Diaz or Judah, then of course that'll be an added bonus. But it can be against any bum. There shouldn't really be a high criteria for this warm-up.

He's not looking for a war... its a tune up. He should play it safe or not do it at all.
