Chavez Jr. says: If I win, I will fight Sergio Martinez

    If undefeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is able to defeat WBC middleweight champion Sebastian Zbik on Saturday night at Staples Center in Los Angeles, the 25-year-old mexican boxer is willing to make a defense against the current king in the division, Sergio Martinez. During a recent interview with b-scene, Martinez and his team made statements that Chavez Jr. was not willing to take the fight, but Zbik has already agreed if he retains. Martinez will return to the ring on October 1.

    "I'm willing to fight anyone. Martinez is a great champion. I want to fight the best and if I win, then yeah it would be a good fight, and the fight would take place at 160 pounds," Chavez told Edgar Solorzano.

    Talk is cheap. Chavez Jr can say he'll fight Wladamir Klitschko. Both he and everyone else knows that Bob Arum won't put him in with Martinez so his words mean **** all really.

    iv seen the sparring he did with that 154 fighter Vanes Martirosyan. he was getting beat around the ring and picked apart chavez is pretty average if u ask me.

    chavez jr at this point is getting this championship fight because of business, he is the son of a mexican boxing legend hence he gets a shot at a title because of his name.
    Its the reason why martinez got stripped of the belt in the first place, that alvarez received a belt so easily tells me they want to make chavez vs alvarez soon.
    If he ever wants to be more then a marketable name he needs to fight a guy like martinez and win and prove he is worthy of the hype, he would definitely get my respect if he insists on fighting martinez and take him on.

    I seriously doubt Chavez will be facing him any time soon. Poor guy would get destroyed.

    He's full of ****!!!!!He knows dam good an well he's not going to step into the ring with Sergio Martinez!and if he does Sergio will make him look like he's the one who's 37yr old not Sergio....and as far as roach saying Sergio is not a good fighter,**** Sergio is the most talented southpaw in boxing today,not taking nothing away from pacman but Sergio is might not have pacman's all around energy but he's defintely more gifted,has better ring generalship and more talented!!!!and if you disagree then just go back and look at both of these fighters last fight and tell me which south paw looked better
