The damn fighters are too big and slow. There's never inside boxing action. No great combination punching. No consistent action. It's boring as hell!!!

I was watching the great fights of the 80's and early 90's(Tyson, Bowe, Holyfield, Larry Holmes, et cetera). There were epic battles, inside wars, constant action. It just ain't the same today, and the big fights just aren't happening. :patsch

I hope things change, and fights are made. I hope we see some wars and dramatic battles. Untill that happens, I'll continue to enjoy watching the under 200 weight class fighters battle it out.

It's not as exciting to watch, but the actual standard is underrated simply because they all come from Eastern Europe

Another problem is the lack of characters in the division

Are you kidding me??????LOL:nut :nut :nut

The division sucks because the future Heavyweight champs of the world are either playing football or basketball.......

If you're 6' ft. plus, athletic, 250lbs or so, etc. those guys have no intentions of getting their brains bashed in...

How about the combos Vlad laid on Byrd last year?

I don't think it's due to them being Eastern Europe. If Klitchko fought like any of the fighters that I mentioned, I would love watching him. But it's jab jab hold for the first 5 rounds, then an eventual KO.
Also, a bunch of the current heavies are getting mad old and I barely hear about any new up and coming "good" prospects.

    Give it a ****ing rest

Boo ****ing hoo, America can't unearth a decent heavyweight for toffee because they are all playing basketball. Tough ****, don't expect the rest of us to care

It doesn't mean the standards are poor. Maybe not as good or exciting as times gone by, but it is FAR from the weakest division

Wlad stacks up against many great heavies head to head, and there are a number of very solid heavies that could beat him on their day. Not to mention talents like Haye and Povetkin

I have to agree with you there, the division is far from the great 90s. I think alot of people are praying for the second coming of Tyson, he was everything you could want in a fighter, Powerful, highly skilled, extremely fast, threw amazing combinations, and a stellar finisher. To top it all off he was fun to watch talk especially towards the late 90s and early 2000s, its just too bad we wont we see a Tyson like fighter for a very long time and will just have to settle for a fraction of that in Sam Peter.

TFFP is right, there are no characters a top the Heavyweight division. All of them seem to have little or no personalities, the popularity of the division suffers partly because of that IMO, plus most of the top heavyweight fighters dont fight the most eye pleasing fights, aside form Peter and Wlad they all seem to almost put me to sleep.

That was like the only combo thrown in the entire fight by Wlad.

I love today's HW division. Four distinctly different fighters hold the belts & there are former champions, upcoming young power punchers as well as more styles, personalities & sizes.

A little bit of everything. Now if they would only fight one another.....................:-(

Not only is there not much inside action, the top fighters in the division just don't fight each other. It's good to see Ibragimov and Klitschko fighting each other, but you aren't going to save the division if it only happens once every 5 years, the top fighters in the HW division need to CONSTANTLY fight each other. Would anyone really remember Hearns, Hagler, Leonard, or Duran if they didn't have epic fights with each other? There is some talent in todays HW division, but most of them don't have any balls to fight each other.

I like to think of Wlad as a methodical destroyer, I can't make you like his style though. You seem to yearn for the early Tyson days maybe?! Y'know, when he was fighting nobodies and cleaning out the division..............

I hear that. Perhaps, if there were more fights aired, I'd be a bit more interested.

You're right! Scam does remind me of Mike Tyson, the one who was mopping the canvas against Lennox, Danny, and McBride. :yep
