    Some if that's emotional.

So much good but there was a dark side too. A great man deserving of his nickname.

you cant mention boxing without mentioning ali. he's the greatest of all time and has the hardest chin/heart. he built a mall in my hometown of manila that's still strong to this day.. it presented many jobs.. Ali's impact to the world is timeless, we'll forever be thankful

Ok. I'm sure you'll show that too to your girl, and she will like it.

If you can, you might want to see if youtube has more on the Cossell/Ali interviews and shows just before and after the Foreman fight.
One of the great moments in TV, or sports on TV, is there IMO.

Just before the fight, Cossell concluded by saying that Foreman was going to beat Ali, and he sort of feared for his life vs Foreman, as his friend. 10 years after shocking the world vs Liston, but after looking poor vs Norton who--along with nearly all his oponents was quickly KOed by Foreman--Cossell, like most pundits said it was basically impossible. Foreman was perhaps the greatest HW and would by virtue of being the most powerful puncher up to that time ever in boxing likely to KO Ali. Cossell appeared somber about Ali before the fight.

After the fight, Cossell did a show with Ali. As I recall, it concluded with Cossell saying that with his easy win over Foreman, he Cossell had to now conclude that Ali is the greatest HW boxer of all time.

At hearing this, Ali, who had, 10 years earlier, first proclaimed himself the GOAT immediately upon beating Liston (the first time), did a fake collapse back into his chair and started to slide down and out of it.

A great moment. And I guess a sort of official commencement of the Ali as the GOAT, at least of HW boxing, from that moment on, further cemented by the 3rd Frazier fight--perhaps Ali's greatest boxing moment.

If you can find the Cossell shows both before and after the Foreman fight, you will like the above.

If really interested, and no joy this way, you could always contact ABC-TV.

Just posted this on another thread:

IIRC, Clay/Ali in Liston I, when blinded by the Liston liniment treatment told Dundee he was seeing 3 of Liston.

Dundee told him to hit the one in the middle.

    Words to live by.
