I think you may mix up Vitali with Wlad. Vitali isn´t the big one punch puncher, more of an accumalative one. But the way he handled Byrd you must give him a goof chance against the better Sharkey.
The chances of GreatA confusing the Klitschko brothers are about 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001%
I would say the far more awful pick is for Jack Sharkey to beat Vitali Klitschko... I find that irrational in the extreme.
Biggest pile of **** I think i've ever read on this forum, i'm almost wondering if this is sarcasm? Carpienter was nothing more than a light heavyweight with, yes a decent punch, who would be fighting a rangy, experienced and solid chinned fighter who would hammer the **** out of Carpentier without having to put himself within a foot a GC's reach. As for Tua - Firpo. Firpo is one of the most unskilled, wild and cumbersome fighters i've ever seen fight for a championship and the only question in this fight is would Tua actually decapitate him with a left hook inside one of Firpo's telegraphed right hands. The fact that Dempsey almost got knocked out by that bum (and i'm normally hesitant to use that phrase) is one of the biggest black marks on his record IMO.
I think Lewis' opposition handily dominates this. Golota probably finds a way to melt down, but I don't really see another match I'd go Team Dempsey's way in. Vitali Klitschko is a massive, skilled killer who was willing to die in that ring that night. He's better than Sharkey, and would whup him. Mercer was similarly inconsistent and could get out done. Nobody else I give more than an outside shot. Somewhat suprising of me. Perhaps if the matchups were shuffled a bit, but not like this. The fights favor Team Lewis way too much.
Did you see Tucker against Frankie Swindell ( a 5'10 fat ight-heavy journeyman) ? I'm guessing you didn't. Tucker looked like ****, and got hit way too much. Explain that. If Tucker was so good at keeping shorter guys at range, like you claim, he wouldn't have needed a gift decision to get past Orlin Norris, who was about 5'9. The reason you think my post was pile of **** is because you probably never saw many Tony Tucker fights, and just have this inflated image of what he should be like. Anyway, I give him the win over Carpentier. Firpo was better than given credit for. He was crude as hell but he came to fight, willing to put it all on the line. And he hit hard. Yeah, Tua should beat him. But the Tua who fought Lewis didn't seem that well prepared, mentally or physically.
I also think Holybro might have trouble with Tommy if the guy is at his peak, a smarter, defensively focused Tommy could definitely turn the trick
Jack Sharkey would give Vitali all he could handle. I think its a toss-up fight. I would probably even pick Sharkey. Look at what he did with giants George Godfrey, Harry Wills, and Primo Carnera(1st fight).
