I havent heard anything. I remember them saying he'd have to sit out a few months with that hand injury from the JM Cotto fight. Anyone heard anything ?
I know he has been angling for a shot at Jan Zavek, for a while now. With some serious promotional juice behind him now (Golden Boy), he might be able to lure Zavek across the Atlantic for a potentially lucrative fight. This is exactly the kind of fight he should be looking for, Zavek is a small welterweight, and only has notable victories over Hlatswhayo (good but not great fighter) and Jackiewicz. This would be Malignaggi's best shot at winning a title in a 2nd division, if he can't beat Zavek then he will never hold a title at 147.
Someone asked Dan Rafael in his chat last week and he said he hurt either one or both of his hands in his last fight so he is off for a while. Can't remember exactly, but you can check it out. Jopez is right too, he wants to get Zavek in the ring.
He done stuck his tongue out at his promoter , so they fired him! No fights at this time but I heard he will make a special appearance on the next Jersey Shore season. CABS HEAH!
I met him randomly in the streets of Brooklyn recently. He told me no fights are scheduled for him at this moment.
