    Great read. Wasn't that article by Doug Fischer? Great great read about an amazing fighter. Hopkins may be right with Robinson and Leonard as the best fighter of all time period. Hopkins is too good to ever get beaten up or KOed, it will never happen. Bouie Fisher is a brilliant but humble man and a genius in his own right. A beautiful human being who is much more than just a trainer. Appreciate Hopkins while we can, there will never ever be another remotely like him. Bernard Hopkins forever!

    The article mentions how you should step with every punch just like Jack Dempsey's fighting manual says to do. The idea of putting a step will make the punch more powerful. His videos are excellent as well. I've seen instructors say you shouldnt step becasue it can be countered easily. But apparently it seems to be the best thing to do whne punching, a basic fundamental. Thanks for that, great read.

    the man was a L-HW living as a MW, fighting former Welterweights, was never really in a threatning fight and for my money only schooled Pavilik (which I give him credit and full marks for), but Pavilik was another HYPE machine and limited fighter!

    this article admires BHops disipline, longeviety and old school technics, things that are missing with boxing and fighters, BUT that dosn't automatically place him in the same fray!!!

    30s, 40s and 50s true middleweights he does not beat - he hasn't fought the calibre week in week out to even suggest it... very few fighters of the last 30 years or so compare!

    I'm not exactly sure what he means by this. I understand stepping in with a jab, but if you're pivoting into a power punch, how does one 'step' with it?

    Sorry to bump this, but I was looking for this for a while and still wonder what exactly is meant by stepping with every punch. Stepping the non-pivoting foot to move in/out? Jumping with the 'punching foot' while pivoting?
