Why is Vitali, Segura, and Bradley on here.. they did not do anything special.. and where is Brandon Rios????? I voted for Hopkins anyway.

 

They've all gone only once, Montiel was the highest ranked fighter any of those guys beat, so it quite clearly is Donaire. Honorable mentions to Salido and Hopkins.

OK guys, Juanma was ranked MUCH higher than Pascal, P4P speaking. Salido shocks and stops Juanma whereas Hopkins wins a close decision against Pascal. It is indefensible to list Hopkins ahead of Donaire/Salido unless you say "yeah, well, he made history" in which case you are admitting that he probably shouldn't get it by virtue of strength of resume.

 

Has to be between donaire and hopkins.

Considering that montiel was higher ranked p4p i'd say donaire edges it.

 

Come on. Don't let Mosley's name fool you. Think about what skill level he was at when he fought Pac. Shane's legs, reflex, and stamina were all shot to hell. Also factor in his unwillingness to go out on his shield. It is neither difficult nor is it impressive to chase a scared, old cat around the ring while repeatedly throwing hard straight left shots. Ortiz fought and beat a young, hungry lion who was in a higher weight class and Vic proved a lot of naysayers wrong. But whatever. I'm not here to change your opinion. I suppose there is some decency when you don't already assume Pac as FOTY just out of pure love for him. Otherwise I would have never bothered with this thread. I agree with your decision on Donaire though. At this point he seems to take the cake or at least in my eyes.

 

Donaire, khan, Hopkins, ward, ortiz, Pacquiao, martinez, froch, are all in the running.

 

I liked the looks of Gamboa in his March fight verse Solis and Salido's recent victory over Lopez makes Gamboa's performance against Salido last year now look really good.

Obviously Donaire and Hopkins had tougher opponents, and imo are the fighters who have stood out so far this year.

 

I had Pascal just knocking on the door of top 10 (he's still pretty close) and JuanMa probably a little bit behind him tbh. Don't forget Pascal beat Dawson.

Voted Hopkins...based on the historical importance of his win.


Donaire, as impressive as his win was, that one KO punch that could easily have gone the other way.

Salido's win was more impressive based on the fact that "no one" gave him a chance vs Lopez.

Ortiz would probably be next based on what he did. Made himself the man to beat at 147 behind Pac and Floyd.
