I have pac winning both fights closely but it couldhave easily been 2 draws or 2 marquez victories thats how close both fights are.

every second of every one of those 12 rounds matters

People might be able to ignore a part of the fight on some forum, but in reality it doesn't work that way.

EXACTLY. I think Mayweather may had something to do with it, but I think more likely he was focusing on speed and being able to duck under Katsidis's swarming hooks and overhand rights. I remember Dwyer saying how Katsidis might not give JMM room to counter as a smotherer, but he controlled the inside perfectly. People don't recognize how hard it actually is to hit JMM more than twice in a row cleanly.

Look at how many punches he dodged after the knockdown starting at 1:10. Sure, he ate a stiff jab, a leaping left or two, and a right hand among all those punches, but he dodged a large majority of them-while hurt! And then at the 2:40 mark, his footwork and evasive head-movement is fluid and swift, moving backwards while dodging punches he can't even see. Definitely a student adding to his repertoire.

Pacquiao outlanded Marquez in rounds 2, 7, and 10. They both landed the same amount of punches in rounds 4 and 12. Pacquiao knocks Marquez down three times in the 1st round.

    round 1. Pacquiao + 3 points.
    round 2. Pacquiao
    round 3. JMM
    round 4. Even
    round 5. JMM
    round 6. JMM
    round 7. Pacquiao
    round 8. JMM
    round 9. JMM
    round 10. Pacquiao
    round 11. JMM
    round 12. Even

TOTAL = PACQUAIO WINS BY 1 point.

So maybe you should stop talking about punchstats, since they indicate that Pac won both fights.

  7. im a big marquez fan, but i cant see how anyone could score the first fight for juan. pacquiao clearly won in my opinion. the second one is a whole other story...
