Chávez Jr. cannot be put in the ring with either Cotto or Martínez.

Dude he weighed in at 180 tonight. He is a big kid.

As far as the OP. He would give Cotto a good fight and I actually see it pretty even. Specially at 160. However Martines probably stops him in under 5.

He just needs to put his punches together. And why was he trying to blow Zbik the last few rounds. Terrible. Had Zbik stepped to the side and uppercut him he would have gone down.

I was really disappointed in Chavez Jr. Specially since i bet on the KO....

who has Cotto beaten lately which is that great? Mayorga? Yuri Foreman? Mayorga is a joke I think, and I said so in numerous threads going back some years, and Foreman probably isn't much better than Chavez, and he is smaller. Cotto going up to middleweight cannot happen. He is not close to being a middleweight, let alone a superwelterweight. That is almost as ridiculous as Leonard when he fought Lalonde, but Ray needed to cheat to get that win and two titles just to beat Tommy to his WBO belt but Thomas won by 3 days. Of course I don't think Chavez is that great a fighter. It is the size issue and the wear and tear on Cotto which makes me think Chavez would be in a great position to win that fight. if Cotto won by stoppage in round 2 I wouldn't be surprised either.

this catchweight stuff is ridiculous. Ok I change my mind. Cotto will win. Sure if you get a guy who is bigger and won the title at that weight to fight a smaller guys and that weakens the bigger guy, sure Cotto can win the 160 pound title. This catchweight stuff is going to hurt boxing. The fighters who benefit from the catchweight are more important than boxing is what that says. Arum's interests are more important than boxing. .Pacman and going back Ray Leonard have hurt boxing by doing this. If a title is on the line at 160, that should be the weight.

the good thing about the Martinez/Chavez Jr. fight is that it would be at 160 for the 160 pound belt. The catchweight stuff is delegitimizing boxing. Thomas Hearns didn't need to have Virgil Hill agree to 175 pounds to win that belt. He won it fair and square.

Cotto @ a catchweight fight beats JCC jr. Martinez will KO Chavez jr. in the very early rounds. If Zbik had good power in his punches, he would have won via TKO.

Cotto's been through a lot, but he's got enough in the tank to school Chavez.

If Cotto lands all those friggin blows on that kid that will be it. Jr. has an AWFUL defense, Cotto would murder the kid, believe it.
