Bute is really not the one being criticized. It was the Bute "fan club" who cried duck as soon as Stieglitz was mentioned... All in all these people fails to see the bigger picture!
Kessler did also beat WBC champ Froch in his last fight, and relinquished the belt. So should be highly rated
Could you provide a source to the Showtime statement? I hope we could see Kessler-Bute in Denmark. But I have not seen anything that would lead me to believe, that the team behind Bute would come to Denmark to fight Kessler. I hope I am wrong though.
What is this............talking about boxing on a boxing side... :yep Mundine did VERY well in his 11 fight, Ottke was "saved" by the ko. Great fight though ............:bbb
Yeah Mundine did amazingly well for his 11th pro fight (with basically no amateur carrer) and was up on the cards in germany of all places :thumbsup
I still think the plan is to make Bute-Kessler this fall, but a lot can still go wrong. I reckon this Stieglitz talk is just for Sauerland to have a second option and some leverage in regards to Interbox. Sauerland said that they are in talks for a fight and that he had received an offer from Interbox to fight Bute. The offer was apparently very low so that just tells me that there are ways to go yet and this is scirmishes between the promotors as there always are in big time negotiations. At least Kessler's fight with Buadla showed that he is ready to take on the top guys again.
Interbox has lowballed Sauerland. Now Sauerland is about to make a counter-offer for Bute to come to Denmark (probably offering Bute slightly more than Interbox offered Kessler). If Bute doesn't take it, it's a duck. Right?
You believe Sauerland? I don't. We don't know the numbers. To answer your question, if Sauerland offers something good AND Showtime accepts it, yes, I'll consider that Bute is ducking, even if interbox has been stolen before by Wilfried Sauerland (Éric Lucas against Markus Beyer was fixed).
The knockout was hilarious, but the effects of the knockout were catastrophic. Ottke actually Ottkefied Mundine. After that knockout Mundine fled back home and never travelled again
I bet Kessler's gonna skip Bute and go for Stieglitz....makes sense. Would be nice if Kessler vs Stieglitz can happen within a couple months and set up a late fall date/early winter date for Bute vs Kessler with Kessler having the WBO belt then if the winner of Bute and Kessler fight the winner of the Super 6 there will be one guy with all 4 belts at SMW.
I simply don't believe that Kessler will be able to fight more than twice a year. With the injuries he's sustained over the years he simply can't fight more than twice a year if he want's to be in top shape for his fights. If he fights Stieglitz then he won't fight Bute before 2012.
