Haye was fighting a freak of nature, of course it would have done well, it was circus show. No one knew who this giant was, he was crazy big, little did they know that valuev couldn't box for ****.

Yeah I realise now that he made a mistake, but i'm tired of people lying on these boards just to make a point.

 

I didnt expect the fight to sell this much. Lots of ppl knew shane was well past his prime and didn't stand a chance, so im sure there were a lot of ppl who didnt buy the fight cause of that reason including me.

That bein said I think 1.3m against Shane today is more impressive than 1.4m with Mayweather. Back when Shane fought money, he was considered a top 1-2 welterweight and had a lot more hype after getting a great KO over marg. After looking really bad against money and mora, it was obvious he shouldn't have fought against pac.

pac keeps fighting money's leftovers of course he should sell more.
You guys think the Shane from the marg KO could attract more viewers than the Shane who got owned by money and fought mora to a draw? Of course ..

 

yeh i agree. his ppv numbers are staggering. i guess when you have the americans buying your fight as one of theirs and then the mexicans adopting you as one of theirs you got alot of buys. he has a good personality as well and did nt duck fighters. myself and my mate were arguing at the weekend at whether canelo alverez could be as popular as oscar. i doubt it myself

 

I put it into perspective and see a filipino uncle tom who gets much more exposure in various outlets and still is 2nd place.

 

But they had access to 4 x as many homes.

 

How many PPV buys did you predict for this fight? And Floyd vs Shane wasn't considered a mis match like PAC vs Shane. Knowing that.....Floyd could only generate 100K more in PPV buys than PAC.

Not a good look for Floyd......A non US fighter generated roughly around the same amount of PPV buys fighting a guy who no one gave a chance to....yet they still came out in numbers to buy the "mis-match".

It would be like Floyd vs Shane fighting again and doing over 1 million in PPV buys after PAC beat him.

1.4 million bought a fight where they were hoping and praying for Floyd to lose.....1.3 Million bought a fight just to see PAC dominate someone who no one gave a chance at winning.

Big difference........People buy Manny's fights b/c they adore him....people buy Floyd fights b/c they want to see him fail.

it's all money but don't be a fool......Floyd's feelings are hurt! I feel bad for him sometimes, until he opens his mouth and i remember "WHY" he's in this situation.

 

Please. The only people who thought Mosley had a shot v PBF was Paquiao fans who claimed Floyd was scared.

Nobody bought the PPV to watch Mosley. Mosley has never been a draw and couldnt draw flies to **** yet the fight still drew 1.4 mil even though pacman fans tells us floyd is boring and people would rather watch paquiao.

Well more people had a chance to watch paquiao v the same opponent and the fight still drew less even though pacquiao is more exciting.

Last two PPV fights PAC sold more.....JMM was a bigger name than marg...Shane was a bigger name when Floyd fought him....yet PAC was able to do a half million more in US PPV buys.

And PAC ain't even a US fighter.
