Which makes the PPV numbers even more impressive since many called to boycott the Margarito and Mosley fights. I know for a fact many *****s like you on ESB claimed they would not buy the Mosley fight.
Definitely Mexicans will watch Saul Alvarez and PPV can easily hit over 1M! I like Alvarez but I just believe he is too green to fight Pac!
The PPV Cash Cow King Of Boxing! All roads lead to the pound-for-pound number 1 and official Fighter Of The Decade 2000-2009!!
yea right cotto can bring 1 million anytime time of the day and any fighter doing a come back will do the same. give credit where its due and its not pacquiao. atsch
lol you mayweather fans will stop at nothing trying to discredit Pac It's a legit record. Pacquiao is slowly but surely getting close to surpassing De La Hoya and Tyson, well maybe not Tyson, but definately De La Hoya as the biggest non-heavyweight PPV attraction, especially if he fights on another 2-3 years and the Mayweather fight happens. De La Hoya - 13,850,000 buys from 19 PPV fights (4 fights with 1 million+) Pacquiao - 8,950,000 buys from 14 PPV fights (4 fights with 1 million+) And consider De La Hoya was a hyped up Mexican-American from the Olympics, had HBO/top promoter backing from the beginning who played on his good looks and smile for a crossover appeal, while Pac is a foreigner who struggles with english and literally came from the streets in the Phillipines. What he's done is truly phenomenal, can't take anything away from that.
Credit was givenatsch But some are making it seem like Manny was the main reason. DLH was the reason, Cotto will always bring some good numbers and Margarito had the story to bring viewers and Dallas stadium once again. Come on Showtime/CBS and you think that wouldnt have brought over 1 million in the Mosley fight. If Manny did 1 million with Clottey then that will have gotten my attention.
Numbers from 2008: http://www.badlefthook.com/2008/12/10/689182/hbo-releases-official-ppv Jones-Trinidad, followed by Cotto-Margarito. I don't remember anything notable from '09 or '10.
