I heard that Matchroom are in discussions with Lou DiBella about a potential Barker Martinez fight. Gotta say, this is the worst idea ever. Hopefully Eddie Hearn is just trying to get Barkers name out there because he has no business fighting him now. There are plenty of other fights, Chavez Jr is a good name. The winner of Sturm/Macklin (or perhaps the loser) I like the idea of Alverez. He isnt a WW, plus he is a massive star, and he is there for the taking. If Aleverz is looking to step up, this is a fight Barker should go after.
He has a good shot but he has to knock him out. There is no chance a Alverez will lose a fight on scorecards.
Sillyman will let Chavez fight whoever, so long as the readies keep coming in. Barker is way too dangerous.
Barker could beat Chavez Jr I reckon. Just look at the duddy fight, Duddy got to him at times and Barker is technically much better than Duddy..
He should still take the opportunity if presented to him. He could make a real good showing against Martinez, raise his profile and get better fights in the future... Also, there is also the small chance he could win, its small but its still a chance.
