Dan Rafael had Taylor up 6 rounds to zero against Pavlik going into the 7th.:-( Kelly Pavlik was the Fighter of the year in 2007. :good
Dan Rafael is one of the preminent voices in the boxing community, and is greatly respected among his peers as well as the fighters themselves. He knows the the sport like the back of his hand. He's way more cedible than that washed up hack, Bert Sugar. Tell me something, is he ever going to light that cigar, or is he going to let it just hang from his mouth like the jackass he is?
Why? Taylor dropped him, don't forget that and in my opinion was winning the fight before his stupid ass dropped his hands and Pavlik caught him with a beautiful right hand. But tell me Why is he fighter of the years? Does Zertuche and Miranda rank up their with Oscar and Hatton? Oh and pavlik has been dropped by lesser fighter than Taylor 4 times...Mayweather never been down.
All right I will admit that I have been rather hard on Mayweather and his accomplishments as of late and I will tone it down a bit before I get kicked off of the site again, like I did a few days back. Congratulations to Flyod Mayweather and his team and his annoying fans. There you happy!!!
No, but I don't want to get into that too much. Floyd certainly played a big part in the resurgance of boxing this year as he was involved in two superfights, so he's a fine pick. I have no objections...
Indeed he is :good. He cannot score a fight for **** though. Also Sugar think's the cigar looks cool... :blood.
Oh yeah, too bad no one gives a **** about your opinion. Ring Magazine and Dan Rafeal have named their fighter of the year, and he goes by the name Money May. But hey, I guess the opinion of C Basilio is more credible than Ring Magazine, aka the Bible of Boxing, or respected ESPN columnist Dan Rafael. Maybe you should start writing your own magazine since you think you know so much.:good
Agreed. Being "fighter of the year" should be about winning big fights, and performing well. Its not who was the winner in the "fight of the year" that gets the award. Mayweather beat Hatton and De La Hoya, nuff said.
All things like this are subjective man. Like people's p4p rankings only more difficult to compile. Stop ripping into them so much .
...no actually i have not. I was thinking I hadn't then I went and looked around a bit and have yet to see any .
