    I agree. Its a stay busy fight thats all it is. Jmm feels this will prepare him better than so be it.

    If he wants a tune-up, why fight a fighter who is so obscure that only a few people heard about? and this guy apparently can bang with a very high knock-out ratio.

    I don't care if it was against cab drivers, but at his age, JMM is not exactly hard to hit anymore as evidenced that even Katsidis was able to knock him down. One punch could derail this fight. He could have fought a powder puncher instead.

    i dont understand why they didnt get a fight at at least 140 preferably 145ish.....im telling you i just hope JMM shows up at his best

    some people obviously don't know the meaning of "tuneup"
    it's a stay busy fight, marquez hasn't fought in a while and needs a fight to shake off the cobwebs, nothing more.
    his fight is signed with pac, a bad performance or tough fight could effect the pac fight, marquez could get hurt or cut, and also it could harm it's appeal if marquez looks bad, which would hurt him in the pocket getting $5 for every ppv sold over 850k.

    Well he was suppose to fight D. diaz, but money issues messed it up. That was at least the sand threat level. At least it would have made Marquez seem a viable threat at a higher weight.. This fight really does nothing, he will probably get more out of sparring.. And at worse case this guy gives Jmm a bad foul like Bazooka was talking about..

    Not taking a tune-up at this stage in his career is much dumber than risking injuries or a loss- both very seldom occurrences in his career. That should be that.

    Stop crying people . . . you all know that JMM was supposed to fight Diaz.

    This is just a keep busy fight and a tune up against a south paw before his biggest fight.
