What a tragedy for true boxing fans. No disrespect to Ortiz, but this is NOT the fighter we all clamor for. I don`t even know who to blame, Pac or PBF ? My gut tells me its more PBF that we are not seeing the fight. Truthfully they both **** me off. Ali/Frazier, Louis/Schmeling,Pep/Saddler. Robinson/LaMotta,Arguello/Pryor. These great fighters WANTED each other, and the bragging rights that came with it ! It wasn`t all about the money for these legendary fighters. And the promoters are willing to throw insane $ at PBF and Pac. So please lets not post this bull**** about how either of them are ATG, or even put them in hypothetical fights with greats of the past. They don`t even want to fight the best of today ! Here`s what continoues to seperate these guys from the TRUE ATG,pride, desire and the will to be great. It hurts the sport of boxing when the two best of the sport, won`t put their names on the contract and make it happen... How dare they proclaim themselves great !

theyve both made more than enuff to pay bills and will do after they fought so its ridiculous not to fight. both have their points but their just not good enuf i side more with floyd, i wouldnt want to fight someone i thought was cheating. and if accused would prove that person wrong if i really wanted to fight them. but its all a joke. tv should boycott their fights til they fight each other.

ortiz is a "young lion" and this is a "great challenge" for floyd coming from a long vacation. we are contented with this fight and he can retire once again after picking up his $40M guarantee without fighting pacquiao next.

Everyone has great points... I just think its ridiculous that the fighters don`t truly want to make it happen. They could establish their legacy, and make crazy money to boot ! They both look less than in not making it happen in my opinion. Can you imagine Ali or Frazier inventing a reason to not fight each other ???

yes they both have made much much more than enough to pay bills but i bet they've both blown it away on excess

the mentality required to be a sucessful boxer is probably a million miles away from the mentality to be shrewd with moneh!

Boxing is a business!! For example, if your boss told you he will pay you triple your salary for doing a easier task? Then he says I will give you 5 times the salary but you have to do a extremely more difficult task? Which one would you pick?

Floyd and Manny both have taken the easier task!!!

I think you only have to look at the two people involved here...

1... Manny Paquaio is a well respected congressman in his home country. He fights for his people as well as $$$$$$ and fame. When he retires he will go on to a great political career knowing he was ths P4P #1 fighter of his era.

2... Floyd Mayweather is an egotistical , woman beating, punk coward. He plays the boxing fans for fools thumbs his nose at them for still supporting his punk ass. When he can no longer con the gullible he'll sink into a life that will make Mike Tyson look like Mother Teresa. He'll end up penniless

Give Floyd a break. He just wanted to have a southpaw opponent before facing Pac in November 2012 or 2013.
